Hyogo prefectural police have arrested a 79-year-old man on suspicion of sexual assault after he drugged a female caregiver with sleeping pills at his home.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Yuji Morioka, a resident of Kobe City, is accused of mixed sleeping pills in soup before offering it to a 38-year-old caregiver who was visiting his home between 11:10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Dec 17, Fuji TV reported.

Police said Morioka has admitted to groping the woman who remained unconscious for about two hours. Police said she suffered no physical injuries.

The woman felt something strange had happened when she awoke and contacted police the next day. She usually visited Morioka’s home twice a week.

I really feel sorry for women who are drugged and raped. It happens a lot. Some men seem like low lives.

That's an unfortunate situation for this caregiver. I wonder if the rapist was emboldened by Japanese porn because there is a genre for this exact situation.

@Numan

There is no correlation between the two. What you see on TV or the internet cannot be used as an excuse for someone's actions. He's a pervert and he took attacked someone that is there to care for him.

Taking lessons from Bill Cosby?

Just checking, but is groping also considered rape?

Wow! I guess you are never too old to be a sexually perverted creep in Japan. I have no doubt it’s not the first time this old pervert has done this either.

" 79-year-old Morioka has admitted to drugged, groping the 38-year-old caregiver who was visiting his home"

sleeping pills can be deadly, his next step could have been necrophilia, followed by a stroke.

No, the caregiver did not overreact. Not only was she groped (i.e. sexually assaulted) but she was also drugged. This has nothing to do with "western morals." Such behavior is not okay in any civilized society.

Facts are simple. Age is irrelevant unless he is senile (obviously not with this amount of pre-planning).

If you drug someone and render them unconscious, you have already committed a crime! Afterwards to sexually molest...this guy deserves a sentencing.

Gonna ask the obvious, sorry;

How does a near-80 year old still have such drive? Someone needs to take his pills away.

"How does a near-80 year old still have such drive? Someone needs to take his pills away."

Many old men in Japan, would run circles around the same age group in america, they live much longer., and a lot of vitality, from their low animal diet.

@wowyz, have to agree, the standard american diet, (SAD) can take you out early.

She care gived.

I don't underdtand how on Earth why she waited to report to police.

No age for sexual drive.

In some countries, you can get social sex paid by welfare state. He should have ask and he may have killed her because of those pills.

Numan:

I have seen studies that show prn is causal of rpe and other studies that say prn is not causal of rpe. This case appears to not be settled.

You are using faulty logic to argue a point that no one has made! I never excused this man's action. On the matter of the media influence over people's behavior, there is tons of research to support that argument. If there wasn't some truth to it then advertisement would have no affect on consumers, for example.

Now all of his caregivers will be men!
