Police in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, have arrested an 81-year-old woman on suspicion of killing her 80-year-old ailing husband.
Police said Fujiko Maeda has admitted to killing her husband Minoru and quoted her as saying she was worn out from feeding and bathing him, Sankei Shimbun reported saturday. She was sent to prosecutors on Friday.
According to police, Maeda stomped on her husband several times at their home between Aug 9 and Aug 13.
Maeda called a friend on the morning of Aug 13 and said her husband was unconscious. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead about 40 minutes later.
Police said an autopsy showed the victim died from hemorrhagic shock and that there was also internal bleeding.

She needs to be prosecuted, but not given the death penalty. That's probably what she wants. Let her end her days in prison

This is awful, what a horrible way to die. Again, I wonder if this elderly woman recived any help caring for her husband. This kind of care is impossible to manage on your own.

this scenario repeats itself again and again and again. Sadly, I see no change in the frequency of these kinds of murders until the lack of aged care is addressed. This old fella should have been in a nursing home, not in the care of his 80 year old wife.

She murdered a helpless old man, but nothing will happen to her
