Police on Tuesday arrested a 82-year-old man for threatening four schoolgirls aged 8 and 9 with a knife on the street in front of his house in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture. Shigeo Kimura was arrested for allegedly threatening the girls with the 16-cm-long knife around 4 p.m. He reportedly told the girls: “I kill you.”

One of the girls told her mother who later reported it to police. Kimura admits the allegations but gave no motive, according to police.

He wants to go to prison because he is tired of living alone or some similar excuse.

Lock 'im up the crazy old boy. Threatening anyone, especially little kids with a knife should expect imprisonment.

His age is big, and his brain shrank down.Maybe he remember about some of his actions when he was a tad. On the other hand I wonder if he was aware what he was doing. This is a very strange scenario. Are cops patroling streets at all?

I don't think there are that many knife welding senior citizens. So even if the cops are patrolling they're not looking at old people.

I agree with "fatloser" he probably just wanted some company even if it's in jail.

What more of a warning sign do we need?!?! No matter what his motives, get him off the streets before he goes through with something we'll all regret.

Okay, I'll be the one to say it.... Saitama again....

What's in the water there?

Do any of these news item have details somewhere. They always leave you looking for at least another paragraph.

"I kill you" is maybe onry words in Jiji's vocaburary. That sound rike Engrish to me. Even Engrish syntax.
