82-year-old man found beaten to death at home

An 82-year-old man was found beaten to death at his home in Iida, Nagano Prefecture, police said Friday.

According to police, the body of Masatoshi Kobayashi, who lived alone, was found at around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Police said he had been beaten about the head several times, Sankei Shimbun reported.

Kobayashi's body was found after a neighbor contacted police to say he hadn’t seen Kobayashi for a few days and was concerned about him.

Police said an autopsy showed that Kobayashi had been dead for several days.

Several days? I don't see next door neighbors for a couple of weeks at a time and never call the police, and they don't call about me either.   I want to be well desiccated when they find me.  :)

if I don't see someone, especially older person living alone, who normally I would see around their house, or streets then I ask people about them. It's not a case of being nosey but just caring about our community. No one complains when you take an interest in them.

In the recent location there was a large pool of quite fresh blood. I called the police because I didn't know what it meant. Same day, the police were able to track down a drunk salaryman returning home who fell and hit his head. He was in need of hospital treatment and got it. I don't like living in any community where people don't care about each other.
