The father said he went to the school as usual? Why no shoes?

Did he even turn up to school?

Was there a history of abuse?

With all the child abuse cases of late the father seems like the main suspect.

Nobody knows yet, but I hope the cops make sure the dad is telling the truth.

The father might have done it, but it's awful that people jump to that conclusion based on nothing but the hot air coming out their mouths.

Stats don't lie.

Even if they wanted to do there is too much competition from prosecutors, police and statisticians for them to get any effective lies in. Others have called this correctly. Innocent or not the father is in a real pickle. The police are going to work him over real good unless they find some solid clue someone else did it.

In any case like this the first (but not only if the police are doing their job) are close family members, because sadly they are all too often the perpetrators. However, as others have highlighted not always and at this point no one knows for certain. Either way sad.

There are no other suspects so far, so why not? Should we all just talk about nothing?

Police said “the boy had been dead for some time...” which leads me to question the dad’s statement.

Most people are killed by family or people they know and trust.

The Fact is that a young boy is dead - he shouldn't be, it looks as if someone killed him. This is Tragic.

Thrown into the news story was the Psychological directing fact that the Boy's Father is unemployed.... this naturally leads some people to draw the conclusion that the Father did it...presumably because of Financial matters.... but, you have to wonder, if money was so tight, why was the Father paying for English Tuition ?

Ask yourself this, if you were unemployed, would you kill your own Child and leave them outside your apartment ?

The connection point between "us" and "them" is that what this murderer did is what we humans are capable of. It's easy to forget that and stand in judgement of our neighbor. True, the murderer must be punished, but when stuff like this happens, it should first hit us as if someone close to us did it. How messed up could someone become to reach this point? Isn't that painful?

Yes, it hurts that the boy is dead! Yes, it hurts that a dad(?)/acquaintance (?)/stranger (?) could do something like that. But this is who we are, in our fallen state. We're all more connected than we would like to think.

The way of change is to first get down from our judgement thrones, to change the way we think and feel about our neighbor, change the way we react to evil, and actively love the people in our life each day.

Because murder starts with evil thoughts about others.

Although my comment about the father being reported as unemployed was flippant, I do not understand why that was necessary to put in the article in the first place as a kind of underhanded criticism of the father.

He was home at a time when most fathers are working, so it makes sense to state that he was unemployed. Perhaps a bit unfair to the legitimate househusbands out there, but what can you do?

They didn't find his body until past midnight, so they mean he had been dead for some hours. We already know he went to school that day, so it couldn't have been any longer than that. Whether the father killed him or not, the murder likely took place around the time he would be going to English lessons.

No, it doesn't make sense.

Being home during the day doesn't make one unemployed. It would be extremely naive to draw such a conclusion. He can be working only at night, shifts or taken a day off or even be self employed.

There are different ways of making a living, going to an office or company is not the only form of employment. I will prefer to make alot of money and be branded unemployed than wear the employed tag and make little.
