Police in Kurayoshi, Tottori Prefecture, said Sunday they are looking for the driver of a car that hit and killed a 94-year-old woman and then kept going.

According to police, the victim, Hisae Makita, was found lying on the road, bleeding from injuries, by a passerby at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, NTV reported. She was taken to hospital where she died about 90 minutes later.

Police said parts of a wine red-colored vehicle were found at the scene of the incident and they are analyzing street surveillance camera footage to try and identify the vehicle.

The roads are extremely small and confusing in Japan even when your sober.

Matter of time before they catch him. Its very difficult to get away from a crime like this nowadays, with all the cameras.

I really wish the Japanese authorities would grow both a brain and heart and fix the law so that it is admitted that pedestrians can and do get themselves killed and thereby, properly investigate accident scenes. They do that and the number of people who run would greatly decrease.
