Four men broke into an apartment in Osaka on Saturday morning and stole 7,000 yen after threatening an 11-year-old boy who was alone in the residence at the time.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 1:15 a.m. Saturday in the second-floor apartment of a condominium in Suminoe Ward, Sankei Shimbun reported. The boy was spending the night in the apartment owned by his 72-year-old grandfather, Kikue Takeda, who was at a nearby izakaya that he operates.
Police said the boy told them he was asleep when he was awakened by noises coming from another room. When he went to see what it was, he saw four young men searching the apartment.
The gang threatened the boy and demanded to know where his grandfather kept his money or anything else of value. The boy said he didn’t know but the gang stole 7,000 yen from him. The boy was not injured.
Takeda returned home at around 2:25 a.m. The boy told police the gang heard his grandfather unlocking the front door and escaped by using the balcony.

I mean its pure bad luck the boy was there raher than his own home when the break in happened, But if he was staying at his grandparents why was the grandfather not there? Where were his parents? Not judging the family but need more info on this story for my own interest.

These “gangsters” won’t be paying off whatever debts they owe any time soon. Let’s hope the those who want their money aren’t very patient

Thank the gods the boy was not hurt or worse! -

The izakaya patrons know the grandfather’s habits & schedule but the culprits were probably surprised to find the boy there.

Threatening a 11 year old kid? Disgraceful! Other criminals in this area will not like this and will see that punishment is administered I would imagine.

Glad the kid is safe, just unlucky to have this scary event hope he will forget it soon.
