So instead of cutting ties with the girl, the two plotted to kill her? Sickos. Premeditated. Hang them both.
Fighto!
Two more sociopathic animals who have forfeited their right to be kept alive. Hang them both, and do the world a favor.
Rest in Peace to the poor girl, what a terrifying end it must have been.

Some additional details are given since Tues, Aug 31, ‘21 yet some are curiously absent from Today’s Update:
- “**He told investigators he called Washino to meet with him and his wife.” -**
“*The police found four stab wounds on the back of Washino's body as well as a rope and a mark around her neck suggesting she had been strangled.*” -Today’s Update: “A blood stained knife was found at the shed.” -
“Security camera footage showed the high school student getting into a car on a street near her home, the investigative sources said.”Numan
Was the relationship physical? If so, did it also involve the wife?
Older man grooming a teen on the internet, a jealous wife blaming her relationship problems on a teenager, and a husband lying to his wife to get out trouble.
To solve their relationship and personal issues, they decide to blame a teenager instead of taking personal responsibility.
These idiots need the death penalty.
Fighto!
There is a paragraph you really needed to read:
Komori told the police that he had become acquainted with the victim about two years ago through Twitter, and that his wife became jealous after finding out about her, the police have said.

I am not really a big advocate of the death penalty, but in the case, I will make an exception. These two knew what they were going to do, the poor girls family must be torn to bits, I would like to hear that the authorities would offer to allow the girls family to activate the leaver on the trap door.
Speed
If you advocate the family being allowed to activate the lever and execute someone, then you are an advocate of the death penalty. Basically, for whatever reason, if you think someone should be put to death you advocate the death penalty.
I'm with you on this one. I hope they get it.
Richard Gallagher
The reason for murdering the young woman are moot. Other than to satisfy individual curiosity. This does not dismiss motive as regards a police investigation.

@speed, I think that the parents of the deceased poor girl should be given the opportunity to pull the leaver, it might give them closure on her death, but it should not be given IF they will get a morbid sence of satisfaction, or they might not even want to pull a that leaver, if you was in there position, would you want that responsibility or opportunity? some people might want to pull the leaver, some would be quite happy to leave them to rot in jail untill there natural death.

I must be missing something. I still don't see why they did it.

Japan still seems relatively safe for visiting tourists & foreign residents. These types of “J-on-J” crimes trending in recents years tend to involve teens that meet predatory adults trolling social media. Perhaps its still where your children are and exactly WHO they are meeting.
