An elementary school girl has been taken into custody for attempted murder after she stabbed her mother in the neck at their home in Itoman City, Okinawa Prefecture. Police have sent the girl to a children’s welfare center.
According to police, a member of the family called 119 at around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, reporting that her grandchild had stabbed the mother in the neck with a knife. The mother was taken to a hospital in a serious but stable condition, Sankei Shimbun reported Tuesday.
Police said the girl has given no motive for the attack, nor has there been any trouble reported among the family members.

This article is so inconclusive. No allegation, no motive - nothing. Don't get me wrong here - it's absolutely horrendous beyond human reasoning. Yet, what could have triggered this child to react in such terrying manner? Disturbing to say the least.

There's a high number of teenage girls that get arrested for attempted murder or actual murder in Japan - wonder whats behind the rage

lately i ve been thinking , if i ever have kids, they will be locked at night with no escape route and on proper leather leash at all other times until grown up... no point risking my life.

To all parents - sleep with one eye open. Your kids may be smiling when you take away their game controller, but maybe, just maybe, they're plotting how to use that futon whacker on you.

Little girls don’t just stab their mother out of the blue. There is definitely more to this than has been reported.

If their was no problems between her and her mother then she needs to be put away in a children's home.
She can't be trusted she just may do this again or something worse.

Never heard anything like it. Especially not with an elementary school child.
Awful.

She is under the age of 14 so she can not be held criminally responsible for her actions, and I hope she gets the help she needs!
