Police have arrested a gang member on suspicion of attempted murder after he fired a gun at a man inside a Tokushima coffee shop on Thursday.
According to police, the suspect, Hiroki Mori, 43, belongs to the Yamaguchi-gumi crime syndicate. Police said he shot a 56-year-old man with a handgun inside the cafe located in Tokushima’s Okinohama-higashi district at around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Fuji TV reported. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh, but the injury is non-life-threatening.
Mori fled the scene by car. However, police managed to apprehend him 20 minutes after the incident. His handgun was also confiscated at the time of arrest.
Police said Mori and the man he shot were acquaintances and quoted him as saying they were experiencing" personal problems" and that “I shot at him with the intention to kill.”
The crime scene is situated near Tokushima Bunri University.

Gun violence should never be condoned as a means to solve civil disputes. This is the main problem in the US. When gun violence becomes the preferred means to ending problems you lose your civility.

“I shot at him with the intention to kill.”
he must have shot from under the table to hit the victim in the thigh . you would think that the Yamaguchi-gumi crime syndicate would have better training and company best practice for their employees .

In Japanese criminal law, just owning a gun may be sentenced at life sentence. Notice Yamaguchi Gumi. Other Yakuza ostracized Yamaguchi Gumi. He may get a death sentence for firing.

The victim may be arrested for being Yamaguchi Gumi associated.
