The body of a baby girl has been found buried in the garden of an abandoned home in Tomi City, Nagano Prefecture.

According to police, the child’s body was discovered by a man tending to the garden at the request of the home’s owner at around 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Sankei Shimbun reported. He spotted the child’s leg sticking out from the soil and called police.

Police said an autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of the baby’s death. No further information on the baby’s age or how long the body had been in the ground was available.

DOEL HARRY - This is CRAZY .... STOP IT. The babies are innocent let them live

I lived in Japan for nearly two decades. The callous abuse and family murders ceased to astonish me after a couple of years. It is often defended with, “It happens everywhere.” However, the callousness and selfishness are quite unique to Japan. Like the mother who poured boiling water onto the hand of her 17 months old daughter because she wouldn’t stop crying. Babies left in convenience stores toilets and dumpsters. Babies placed in plastic bags and left in cupboards. Babies cut up and flushed down the toilet. The imaginative ways people discipline their kids. Putting them in a cold shower, locking them on balconies in winter, locking them in cupboards and garbage bins, burning them cigarettes and the old favorite head slap knock down. I’ve witnessed many of these acts of abuse at train stations and in transit. Japan is a safe country. Just don’t go home.

I'm guessing that if they can do an autopsy, the body hasn't been in the ground very long. I hope they find the perpetrator fast.

Is it KILL YOUR BABY SEASON in Japan again ??? Just a few days ago a "Woman arrested for attempted murder after throwing newborn son out the window" and today "Infant's body found buried in garden of abandoned house in Nagano Prefecture" Why are some many parents killing or trying to kill their children ???

This is CRAZY .... STOP IT. The babies are innocent let them live.

REALLY? Is it that difficult to get some help?

Or at least go through proper channels and arrange some sort of adoption or something?

There are a lot of couples out there that can't have babies on their own, and would like a chance to raise an infant. Why is this the general answer to an unwanted pregnancy? I guess there are too many people to blame here. But seriously Japan, this is a major problem.

Get sex ed in the classrooms, get free clinics or counselors......................oh what's the difference? This is Japan. There will never be any kind of effort to change the situation here for such crimes. It's a lost cause here. At least until some common sense and decency is achieved here, nothing will improve.

Perhaps the person who requested the man tending the garden knew of someone in the home had committed the crime but couldn't come to grips to turn the person in, but knew taking care of the garden would find the child and expose the crime.

Just saying “It happens everywhere.” is a cop-out attitude. Yeah, as they say in America 'Crap happens' but it doesn't need to happen. And there's no excuse or justifying abusing or killing kids. none.

Until an autopsy is performed the cause of death is unknown. Why must everyone assume the child was murdered when it could easily have died from natural causes and then been disposed of in a rather callous way?

RIP little one, I pray that your body and soul may find peace. This is just heart wrenching. At a time where Japan's population is declining, every kid should be considered extra important. @DoTheHustle, I was planning to look into that topic, thanks for sharing. I still really wonder why that is still rampant though. I'm guessing that the Japanese are less tolerant towards lack of discipline and are heavy handed when doling out punishments which stemmed from the collective Legalism values of East Asian countries.

Guarantee they just charge with "improper disposal of a corpse".

I want to see the result that she was dead on delivery. Or else it will be very upsetting.
