Prettystupid of him to deny his little episode in the age of cellphone cameras.... we can all watch it on Youtube. I hope after this, the ministry gets rid of this clown.

Such a little immature waste of a man. I love South Koreans, they are very fun and outgoing :)

You have to wonder how a complete dimwit like this can get a job with any level of responsibility.

It seemed to start in the 1980's when bureaucracy in Japan mushroomed, and government positions were opened up to a mass of people trying to be more liberal.

Some utter dimwits were employed by Ministries such Health, Labour and Welfare, and even the MOJ.

I observed in the 1980's rather poorly educated immigration officers insulting Koreans and other Asian people.

Almost as if people who have never had any form of power, suddenly get a little bit of it.

He still thinks he is important and clever. The guy got off too lightly.

I have often been in the security lines at Gimpo and Incheon and occasionally hear Japanese businessmen making rude comments about Koreans, as if no-one understands them. I guess sensitivity training is not offered to anyone...

Eppee - thanks for the link.

The video speaks for itself.

If a Korean govt official tried that shyte in Japan, it'd be headlining for weeks and he'd not see the light of day for sometime - probably not until he confessed.

Relations between Japan and Korean will only improve in the future simply because the younger generation do not harbor hate and are not imprisoned by the past.

The anti-sentiments tend to be from those who experienced the events of the last century. The younger generation in Japan don’t think much of that but instead enjoy the dance groups, buying beauty cosmetic supplies, and eating good food.

Visiting each other’s country and getting to know the people is a proven effective way to improving relations. Banning visas is surely a step in the wrong direction. Life is too short to be nursing animosity and registering wrongs.

Takeda said, "In fact, I wasn't drunk. I acted disorderly but didn't hit the airport worker."

The video of the incident shows him hitting the worker. Another fine example of the entitled Japanese bureaucracy.

You have to wonder how a complete dimwit like this can get a job with any level of responsibility. If you don't like Korea or Koreans, don't go there. Stick to driving around in your black van screaming abuse.

I’ve been in Korea around 100 times and have never felt the need to berate anyone.

Me Takeda might need to be examined by a doctor in Japan for possible mental illness....

This should be a sacking offence.

The eye in the sky sees all in an airport. Review the security camera footage.

Kosuke Takeda, a 47-year-old official of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, is suspected of assaulting a worker at Gimpo International Airport and telling the worker that he hates South Koreans, according to a senior ministry official.

And THIS piece of garbage works at the government. HOW on earth can you have good reputation or international relations when you have idiots like him working there. Pfffffff

It's morons like him that also damage Japan/SK relations.

The video of him not being drunk and not throwing punches was on the morning news yesterday, lol. Apparently that was the second time he showed up like that in a couple days.

He said Tuesday in a Facebook post that he was detained by the local police but did not know why.

I could tell him..

"I was beaten and sustained an injury. I was grabbed by five people in handcuffs. It's a weird country," he said in the post.

Yes Japan... oh wait. he was in S korea. never mind.

There is a familiar pattern in Takeda's antics. He begins by assaulting a South Korean airport worker and ends by lying about it on Facebook, thus blaming the victim and South Korea ("a weird country"). It reminds me of Japanese anti-Korean tirades I've read and read about recently. Takeda should be thankful that the "weird country" did not hold him in a jail. That's what would've happened in Japan.

So he admits to the allegations, but then goes to Facebook to lie about it claiming he was beaten up and doesn't know why he was arrested, and that it's a weird country.. despite admitting the allegations were true.

It seems to me that government officials should be banned to drink any alcohol at foreign countries. It does not matter whether trip is in official or in private.

Why does he still have a job? I work and pay taxes to support this buffoon.

In a post Wednesday, Takeda said, "In fact, I wasn't drunk. I acted disorderly but didn't hit the airport worker."

He admitted telling the airport worker that he hated South Koreans but said it was because he was angry and there was "no political intention."

"I'll be written about in the papers again lol," he said in the Facebook post.

Takeda-san,

May I offer you three pieces of advice?

-- After doing something like this, don't post on social media!

-- Always stick to the "I was drunk and don't remember anything" excuse.

-- Did I mention to never post on social media?!

He though he was in Japan, wasn't he ?

No it doesn't matter where he was.

He thought he was Japanese and always right; whilst

The worker is Korean and always wrong.

LDP showing it high quality as always!

"no political intention.".... even if thats the case still an idiot...

Sounds like he's 17 not 47.

He should have stuck with the "I was drunk" reason for his behavior. Retracting it just makes it seem that you are ALWAYS a %#@!
