WTF you need to go stab someone over a textbook for?
Do the hustle
Sssssssnap! Just shows you what kind of false reality these kids are living in. I teach both junior and senior high at a private high school. Many of the kids are very highly strung and ready to snap. There are also the ones who have emotional, communicative and learning disabilities thrown into the mix.
It doesn't state whether this was a private or public junior high. Some of the public schools are like a zoo! It’s a jungle out there! Keep your wits about you ALTs!

It can be seen from a greater distance by other vehicles when it is stopped in the street or highway to avoid collision. (one would assume)
Ganbare Japan!
@ Old Man. Its just ONE tragic incident, not a "decline in moral values". Crime is decreasing in Japan. Usually you are very wise with your comments Old man, not this time.
Rip to the murdered boy.

Please don't stab your friend for such a tiny thing. Please keep calm, and get rid of your knife.

Ah, Saitama is back in the news.

This is haunting, honestly. What kind of world do we live in where a young kid thinks it's fine to stab someone (to DEATH no less) over an inane argument? It's maybe morbid, but I wish there was something else behind this, because at least then I could imagine even TRYING understanding why this happened. Now I'm just completely stunned as to what would make a person do this.

What was he doing with a knife? When I read this kind of news I want to promote anger management in schools. Not only in schools in the work place too. Nowadays a wrong word here, a wrong look there and a murder is committed. Unbelievable

Criminal liability for this one, please.

Sometimes people, especially teens, will snap when tempers flare. Just like road rage is commonplace nowadays. This is a very unfortunate incident. The parents of the 2 students involved must be devastated.
The police car in the picture has a very interesting set of police light on its roof. Why does it need to be able to rise up even higher? I have never seen this on any police cars elsewhere in the world. Can anyone help me, please?

Lack of mental health care resources coupled with unreasonable shame and pressure are the root cause.
As the Japanese economy continues to flounder and Japan continues to slowly accept modern health care, this will happen more.

The decline in moral values, not surprising it has hit Japan.
