Police in Nagoya have arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of abducting an 11-year-old girl, who was found in his car after he had been driving her around for awhile.
According to police, Yoshimitsu Kawamura, a part-time worker from Hino City, Tokyo, got to know the girl, who lives in Nagoya, through an online chat site, Sankei Shimbun reported. Kawamura drove to Nagoya on Oct 3, called the girl on his cell phone and picked her up at around 10 a.m.
Police said Kawamura drove around Nagoya with the girl until about 6 p.m. when he was involved in an accident with another car in Naka Ward. The driver of the other car called police who then questioned Kawamura about the girl with him. He told them he was a relative.
Police said Kawamura has been arrested on suspicion of abducting a minor. They said he has denied the charge and quoted him as saying he did not plan to kidnap the girl but just have some fun with her.

I am curious though what the girl had to say. Did she cry for help or act nonchalant about it? This whole situation is scary for me that an elementary school girl was fine to meet an adult male and arrange a time to be picked up. Parents have to be more on top of their kids especially at a yoing age. I know the 23 year old loser is the first to blame but this is just an all-around fail.

That is REALLY disturbing! Lock him up FAST!

Gross. So many societies around the world are failing when this kind of thing happens.

Suspended sentence?

I would take a good look at this site. Where there is one victim, there could be more.

No way. More like : "No reason was given for his release".
Do the hustle
Great reporting there! How long is ‘awhile’? A couple of minutes, hours, days, weeks?
Doesn’t this creep have any friends his own age? I shudder to think what might have happened to this little girl if he was not caught at that time.
Moderator: If you'll read the story, you'll see that it says he picked her up at around 10 a.m. and the accident occurred at 6 p.m.

At first place ,such website should check age proof before allowing chatting and parents must watch their kids internet activities. 23 and 11 years old no match at all . he drove to Nagoya to meet this kid ,,,

Is this a case of sugar daddy

How? I'm asking in all seriousness. How does any website truly confirm the age of a user besides asking some perfunctory questions in order to avoid charges if something like this happens?
Are you serious? This is a case of a criminal predator and pedophile taking advantage of a child, because that's what an 11-year old is, a child by all definitions and a minor legally. You're edging very close to victim blaming of a child.

He is a creep, but I don´t see how "abduction" or "kidnapping" applies here, since she went to see him willingly. Parents should really teach kids about social media.

Because she's a child! What about that don't people get? What foresight and thorough understanding of consequences do you really think an 11-year old has? Jeez! She likely began walking less than a decade ago and was toilet trained maybe 9 years ago. She may still have baby teeth. If she is physically developed, that certainly doesn't mean her brain is at the same level. How does someone who's not even a teenager go willingly with a stranger? Do you mean to say you think he was completely honest with her about what he wanted and who he was and that she had the mental maturity to understand that? Are people really so incapable of remember what it was like to be that age and how you well and truly understood so little of the world? If not, if you did have some deeper understanding of things like this when you were 11-years old then you have my sympathy and I'd think you'd be offering it to her too rather than hinting that this was anything other than what it was, a predator criminally preying on a child.

Hopefully some authorities are going to this "online chat site" to see what was really happening. among the creep in question, this site too should be brought up on charges.
