A 23-year-old man from Anjo, Aichi Prefecture, was arrested in Shizuoka Prefecture, early Monday morning after trying to steal a police car that had police officers inside it.
According to police, Ushio Sato, a company employee, approached the vehicle -- which was an unlocked unmarked police car -- at a parking lot in Numazu, at around 12:30 a.m. Monday, but was shocked to see some police officers inside it when he opened the door, Sankei Shimbun reported.
Sato tried to flee, but was soon caught by one of the officers and arrested on the spot for attempted theft.
The vehicle, according to police, was being used as part of an undercover investigation.

He should change his name from Ushio to Ushi, because he's dumber than an ox.

@pudus, you need to look up the meaning of Darwin award again.
I didn't know you can accuse someone of theft if that person only opens a door. Sure he probably didn't have good intentions but still.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the most famous line to get out of a police situation "I was drunk and don't remember a thing!" It sounds like it was maybe a bait car.
