Police in Tokyo have arrested an unemployed 31-year-old man on suspicion of violating the law banning prostitution after he arranged an orgy at a hotel in Kanagawa Prefecture on Nov 19.
According to police, Takakiyo Ariyama, who lives in Tokyo, posted a message on Twitter in late October, recruiting participants for an orgy in a room at a high-end hotel in Kanagawa Prefecture on Nov 19.
The men who replied were required to pay a 30,000-yen participation fee, while the women were paid 30,000 yen and their transport costs in getting to the hotel. Police arrested Ariyama, as well as 11 men and women who were at the orgy.
Police quoted Ariyama as saying he has organized similar events around eight times a month at various high-end hotels since mid-2014, netting him about 60 million yen.
Ariyama’s activities came to light after police were tipped off by an anonymous email in September saying Ariyama was using a Twitter account called Shinobu to organize orgies.

I think we're gonna need some proof here. Where are the pics?

It has been since mankind has been around. And actually even among animals you find the behaviour of exchanging female access for gifts.
No pimping or pedophilia involved in this story. These were all willing adults. Save the moralizing for another occasion.

Sounds more like paid for Gang-bangs. And from first thoughts, it would appear that the women would have been far better off financially, going it alone.
Also, If you works the numbers a bit, assuming 11 was the average size, then there'd have to have been around 9 men to 2 women at every event (288 or so), for him to have made 60,000,000. Which wouldn't appear to be a very pleasant arrangement.

Keep reading the head line and rolling on the ground. Love Japan Today with these stories.
Did this make National news? Like NHK? I can see some kid asking his parents right now.
Whats is an orgy? Whats the Japanese word for that by the way?

His main mistake was not paying off the flatfoots or letting them have some さあびす.

Sex should never be a business. Also, some people get lured into it and they want out of it, and the pimps work them until they die. Prostitution is NOT a victimless crime, it's an arena for rape and pedophilias.

This made my day

A quick stroll through any city, town or village here at night - particularly close to train stations - will reveal that prostitution is a national passion.
Im guessing a crime gang in the area werent getting their cut of the profits - this fellow was effectively cutting into their businesses - and werent too happy!

He deserves an anthem and serenade. Let adults decide how they want to live. Geez!

Don't forget that he would have had to pay for a large and rather expensive suite room for all of the participants, a budget twin room would not be so comfortable. That would eat into his profit margin.

Sounds like he would make a good politician!!

what's the problem here? :)

The organiser is making good money out of this, but the men could have each paid a single woman Y30000. Maybe they like going where others have been only moments before.

LOL man, addition and subtraction! You can do it!

Strangerland: "I can't see how this should be illegal. They are arresting people for going out and enjoying themselves. It seems like a ridiculous usage of police resources."
Money's involved, so technically prostitution laws can be applied. But what happened here is someone was not paid, and not happy, or else it was just a hotel person/guest who was unhappy about what was going on (and possibly not invited). The guy slipped up somewhere. Otherwise, it would have happened like it did all the other times.

60 million yen? He should have stopped while he was ahead. But I wonder who the snitch was who alerted the police? An unsatisfied client?
WilliB
Obviously, there were several times more men than women... otherwise, where would the 60 mio yen profit come from? Biology favours that setup anyway...
goldorak
Snitch!
While I salute this man's entrepreneurial spirit, I think he should have been more cautious re using twitter (!!) to recruit participants.
As an aside, I don't really get why swingers parties are ok and orgies (with single, consenting adults & willing participants) aren't.

His only mistake was not charging women...
I guess he had to pad it the women ratio up ,hence the pay for women....
I would assume the group he sorted wasnt a closed circle type but more of an event with new participants...
Who am I
If he ran that illicit business from mid 2014 to 10/2017 that is for 40 months and had 8 events per month that means 320 events. 60 million divided by 320 events makes 187,500 yen per event. That's rather meager. Are taxes levied on illicit income?

Love your maths. My guess is more like 10 to 6 would be the average. Good money for him though.
Dan Lewis
Well, running a few numbers tells us that if he had a 2:1 ratio, he had around 2000 female and 4000 male participants in the last 3 years. This party was 11 people, so perhaps 7:4 (who knows). At an average of 11 people per party, that's about 181 parties, or 60 a year, just over one party every week! and remember, this was net profit! So expenses were covered, meaning actual number of participants was higher!
Excuse me while I go throw up...

How about a 2-1 ratio? He is getting 30,000 yen for each women that attends. Human biology favors the female in the multiple times functional aspect and ensured a good sampling of sperm donors historically.
ulysses
60 million tax free yen in 3 years is not bad business at all.
However it also points to a heavily skewed male vs female ratio and does not sound much fun at all.
Bet there weren't too many repeat customers.
Bintaro
That must have been very awkward.
How do you proceed in this case ? "Lower your weapon, sir !" ?
albaleo
How many women do you think participated compared to men?
garypen
He's not unemployed. He's a businessman!
Dango bong
dont arrest him, give that man a medal! if the women were paid 30,000 and the men paid 30,000, where is the profit?
