Police in Kashihara, Nara Prefecture, have arrested a 31-year-old unemployed man for beating his girlfriend’s then 10-month-old daughter last September.
Police said the infant suffered a fractured skull and there were multiple bruises on her body, Sankei Shimbun reported.
Police said the man, Yuto Mizutani, moved in with the child’s mother last spring. The assault occurred at around 12:30 a.m. on Sept 17 at their apartment in a municipal housing complex. At the time, the mother was out shopping and immediately called an ambulance upon returning home.
The hospital contacted the chid welfare center about a case of possible child abuse.
According to police, Mizutani has admitted to the charge. He was quoted as saying, “I became angry when the child continued to cry and slapped her on the head. After that, I was holding her when I dropped her on her head.”
Police said Mizutani also said: “Since [the baby] did not take a liking to me, I’ve hit her before.”

It takes a real hard man to punch a baby.... Shame he isn’t in the UK, his time in prison would not be pleasant.

A lot of guys like this around. Basically violent animals with no concept of reason, kindness or human decency. That's why I try not to get into it with crazy drivers and other strangers. Some are capable of the worst mindless violence over the smallest perceived provocation.

Their are a few things that are not liked or tolerated in prison, 1 is a wife and child beaters, 2 Paedophiles, they normally have to be segregated for their own protection. A 10 month baby crying? WTF?! thats what they do, they also poop and wee they need food, attention and love, not a slap around the head!

So sorry, but I have had many, many years of experience of working with such individuals throughout my career (I'm now 73 and retired), and there are very few who succeed in changing their behaviour. All too often, they haven't reach a tipping point of emotion, nor can they visualise an alternative to their learned behaviour. However, there is always hope

Yuto Mizutani, must be the dumbest, or should I say brainless, cruelest person on earth to say what he did. I think when he was born and when he came out of his mothers womb the doctor must have dropped him on his head. How could he do and say such a thing?
