Police in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, said Tuesday they have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a 22-year-old university student in his car.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday in Atsushi Takeishi’s vehicle, which he parked along a road in Maebashi, Fuji TV reported. Police said Takeishi, an office worker from Takasaki City, stabbed the woman in the abdomen with a kitchen knife measuring 17 centimeters in length.

The woman managed to flee the vehicle and sustained minor injuries, police said.

At around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the woman turned up at Maebashi Higashi police station and said she had been stabbed by a male acquaintance.

The victim works part-time at a bar, where she first met Takeishi back in January as a customer. On Sunday, she told police the two were going for a drive when Takeishi grabbed a knife out of the passenger seat’s dashboard and stabbed her.

Police said Takeishi has denied the charge, but admitted there had been some trouble between himself and the victim.

Why do so many resort to violence when they get rejected, just move on if she doesn't like you

"Your honor, yes I stabbed her but I wasn't trying to kill her, I just wanted her to listen to me."

Help me with this. She was stabbed at 2:45pm and showed up at the police station at 9:30pm. Wouldn't one go to the police station very soon after the incident? Unless there is more to the story? There seems to be a lot missing to this story.

Another whacko carrying a knife around. And, another cowardly attack on someone who wouldn’t fight back. What’s the bet he wanted to get it on and she refused? Psycho!

Ah yes! The 'ol "If I can't have you NO ONE will!" mentality. When will people realize there are many other fish in the sea?

Maybe just maybeeeeee she's the nutter!

Maybe, just maybeeeeee men will contort themselves into pretzels in their attempts to excuse violence against women.

Maybe, just maybeeeeee, he watched 50 Shades of Gray too many times.

Being stabbed in the abdomen with a kitchen knife measuring 17 centimeters in length doesn't sound like a minor injury...I wonder how she managed to keep herself from bleeding to death, she was lucky he didn't get any vital organs...

On the other hand if she wasn't interested in the guy at all then why would she accept to go out w him for a drive and all that...

That would depend on how deep the knife went.

The whole story has some big gaps and question marks in it. With the information supplied here I would be very reluctant to speculate on what probably happened. There are two sides to every story and the information here is vague at best.

I had a nutter of an ex here in my early days who tried her best to get me arrested because she convinced herself I was sleeping with someone else.

Sleeping with someone else is not a crime as far as I know...how can she get you arrested for that?

Well not this one. Speaking from experience, I had a nutter of an ex here in my early days who tried her best to get me arrested because she convinced herself I was sleeping with someone else. I wasn't and fortunately the police kinda believed me she was just being a nutter, took a bit of pity on me, gave me a ride home from her place and advised me I was best off without her. It happens.

That sounds like an extremely trying experience. You have my genuine sympathies. And of course it's perfectly natural that you would bring up this past trauma on a story about a man stabbing a young woman in a car. I mean, whenever I read about women or children being attacked by violent men I immediately think, hey, wasn't I once beset by a female nutter once myself.

"Honestly, officer, I don't deny she and I have had some 'issues', but I don't think 'stabbing' is a fair assessment of what happened and so I deny the charges. I think what I did was offer incentive to go out with me, and that's hardly 'stabbing' is it? Well... now wait a minute... yes, the invitation was made with a knife, but since when has shoving a 17cm knife into someone's torso ever created more than a bit of a carfuffle?"

Hope he goes to prison for along time, and gets the chance to experience "a bit of trouble". Lunatics like this never think... ever. They don't realise that simply being rejected, while being a bitter experience perhaps, is not the end of the world, and they still have life pretty good. I'm sure they probably realise it in prison, though. The question is why so many snap here over such little things and stab people before realising such things.
