Man wanted for murder of 92-year-old resident of nursing home arrested in Hokkaido

Police in Sapporo on Sunday arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of killing a 92-year-old woman in a Tokyo nursing home earlier this month.

According to police, Takashi Kikuchi, who had been placed on a nationwide wanted list, was detained at around 3:30 p.m., Kyodo News reported.

Kikuchi is suspected of killing Yoko Yamanobe who was found lying on her side in her bed, bleeding from a head wound at around 7:20 a.m. on the morning of Sept 16 at the nursing home in Kita Ward. She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy revealed that parts of her upper body had been scalded with hot water and that her arms had been broken.

Police said Kikuchi, who worked at the care facility and was on duty on the night of Sept 15, did not show up for work on the 16th. Police said 820,000 yen was withdrawn from the victim’s bank account and that surveillance camera footage in a Shibuya convenience store showed Kikuchi using an ATM card on the morning of Sept 16 before he left Tokyo.

Kikuchi was seen on surveillance camera footage at Tsukuba Station in Ibaraki Prefecture, boarding a train for JR Morioka Station in Iwate Prefecture on Sept 17. He then took a bullet train for Hokkaido.

The nursing homes should shoulder some responsibility for the Nutjobs they hire.

ARRESTED 2 hours ago in Sapporo City at 15:30! Good work, officers! Suspect had altered his appearance by shaving his head but image was recognizable from convenience store anti-bouhan video...

Most likely traced through his mobile phone...but they don't want you to know that.

Nursing homes must be hiring anyone they can get their hands on, NO background checks or any references, they must be desperate because they will NEVER pay enough to attract the right people.

What a scum, all this for just 820,000 yen. At his age he must have been a looser all his life.

It seems like he lost his temper and things went too far that night. Once he realized that he would get found out, he tortured the woman to get some getaway money.

An autopsy revealed that parts of her upper body had been scalded with hot water and that her arms had been broken.

Poor woman! She was at the mercy of that animal all night.

In the previous article, I said:

Hopefully, this missing attendant will get the same treatment if it is found that he was responsible!

I was downvoted by many people for that comment, but my opinion has not changed. This animal should get what is coming to him.
