Good. A thief is a thief. Now let him enjoy true Japanese hospitality from inside a prison cell.

Casual impulsive stealing is bad enough, but this was a pretty thorough ransack of the place, and when caught they tried to dump the heavy stuff overboard. They then tried to escape and finally when caught the captain tried to resist arrest. This has ticked all the wrong boxes for him.

Perhaps as part of his punishment once convicted, he should be made to go round all the pro-North Korean schools (before they close down) and tell the pupils what life is really like in the workers paradise!

Prison sentence in Japan or death sentence upon arrival in NK. I'm sure the former sounds much better for him

Wasn't there an article a few prints back where a North Korean sponsor in Japan was going to pay for the items stolen since they are not allowed to send money back into NK.
