Please oh please - for every 10 people working their way thru college with normal jobs, there is 1 who decides it's just too hard to struggle and easier to do porn. Socialized everything won't change the excuses those women make.

This is a difficult subject to talk about.

I have known women who paid their way through college by acting in adult films, and even, in one case, by engaging in prostitution. They got out of the business as soon as they could. If we had socialized education, perhaps they would not have felt the need to to do those things.

We had a distant relative who engaged in prostitution in New York City for ten years, as an expensive prostitute. At the end of that time she moved to Germany, got married, and settled down, with a nest egg.

I have never known any, but we hear stories of women who are forced to do prostitution. That to me sounds awful, and the people involved should be punished.

According to Lighthouse, a Tokyo-based group that helps human trafficking victims, it was contacted by 100 women in 2016 and 99 women in 2017 who were seeking consultations after being forced to appear in adult videos. They were typically deceived as they were recruited as models.

"Deceived?" I'm sorry, but in this internet day and age, I find it awfully hard to buy that line that these girls going into adult video were in any way 'deceived' about what they were going to do.

I saw a porn company talking to some young women in Tokyo offering them a chance to do porn the offer was a firm "no" until the money was offered it took less than a minute for one of these young women to grab the cash and offer her services.

Its not unusual for young women to graduate High School on one day the do a porn film the next day - I agree I don't believe anyone was "deceived", regretted their actions yes most likely.

I think the forced adult video issue is more an issue of contract law rather than sexual abuse. The JK industry is just a question of underage employment. If they are overage then there is no problem whatsoever

I think any normal person feels sorry for those who feel they have to choose to work or are forced into a sex trade & society should HELP get these peoples lives turned around.

The choice is always made, against what one considers to be an even worse alternative. That's got to be one of the worst feelings ever.

The world is a nuanced place, and it's almost impossible to make any definitive statement about any group on anything, without eventually coming to some sort of exception.

Sorry to tell you, Mr. Pelham, but many of these same women you refer to - the ones here in Japan - their main goal is quick, easy money. Not out of desperation to support themselves or any other desperation. They want to be famous, as well. The nonsense about being forced to say yes and perform because of some terms in the contract - try reading the contract before you sign it. Nobody is forcing fame on them. Nobody forced them to sign the contract. Seems a normal person would say no and hire a lawyer, not say yes and then do not only 1 movie, but dozens or hundreds.

I'm not against this movement even it's designed by government, at least will demonstrate to yakuza groups to step behind young girls business in Kabukicho. Another thing is to protect especially those girls "flying" to illusive neon signs like insects around lights in midnight hours and find them fall down dead the next morning.

Just a thought, but perhaps harassment & abuse and how to avoid them should be put in the education system. Think the annual HR accepted behaviour many companies in other countries do, but integrated into the school system to ingrain in young minds not to do this.

Human trafficking and abuse of women are NOT the same. However, girls and women caught in trafficking can get abused and used for both legal and illegal activities. The same can happen to boys and men as well.

While marches, rally and demonstrations do attract the media and some public awareness, interest and sympathy, calling for an "end" to something that has existed since the beginning of time for all living things, including animals and plants, may be almost impossible. The problem here is social perspective and values that is different in every society.

What this particular group though not really stated in the slogan used, may be saying that "exploiting" and intentionally or unintentionally abusing girls and women for profit and business, regardless of consent, does not meet the social or societal "perspective" and "standard" set up of the members of the group. And they are stating that the rest of the society should agree with their belief and not accept and not allow that such practice.

The only control and remedy for that is to make changes in laws and in allowing the enforcement of those laws through the policing agencies such as the police and the tax office.

Watch this if you can find it. If the girls are under age or coerced then yes close them down and put the owners in prison.

If they are over age and willing participants then it is their choice. Freedom of the individual is also important. While I find it very tacky, if some bloke with more money than sense wants to squander it this way and the girl is happy to take it off him then it is their choice.

I was sitting in a pub last night watching some old fella play around with his 20 something hostess. I dunno how much he paid her, but she was pretty young and he had his hands all over her. This shouldn't be seen as just a man's crime. There are plenty of girls out there ready to take a few hundreds dollars of an old man after patronising him for a few hours. I'm sure many of the girls are coerced into it, bit I'm also sure most of the girls do it willingly, both for the cash and the attention. As long as there are girls willing to play, there will be men willing to pay.

This culture supports middle aged men going to concerts and being fans of girls young enough to be their daughters and granddaughters,great effort but I fear this type of mentality is not going to be easy to change.
