Spy camera used in women’s toilet in Diet building

A woman using a toilet in the Diet building in Tokyo saw a miniature spy camera being aimed at her, police said Thursday.

Police said the woman was using the toilet on the second floor of the House of Representatives at around 5:50 p.m. on April 23, when she noticed the camera which appeared to be held by someone in the next cubicle, Sankei Shimbun reported. The person filming her fled when she called out.

Police said there is no indication who was using the camera and said they will increase security patrols inside the Diet building, with female officers inspecting all women's toilets in both houses of the Diet.

Other news outlets reported Apr 27 ‘someone’ was holding the camera “over the stall’. The only indication of the culprit’s gender is “They fled.” No cell phones were seized or inspected before members exited the building. The second floor toilet of the Diet is regularly used by house members. It s near where plenary sessions are held by the majority of the House of Representatives.

Of course, there’s a “cover up”. Are there NO security cameras in the adjacent hallways outside the toilet?

The majority of “Crimes” solved in Japan, as frequently reported here, state:

“(Someone)” was later identified after police exeamined security footage in and around the area.” -

Again, with limited details, such a story is left rife for speculation and lends itself for a slew of ‘off kilter’ remarks.

I'd have grabbed that hand holding the camera

Expect a blurred video on the Internet to become a national headline news ?

Over the stall rather than under... hmm... spying on what, exactly? Does she read confidential documents while on the thunder box?

Lady dump fetish? This story has a bad smell to it.

Some women get their jollies filming other women. That is why there is no video images of a man leaving the women's toilet from the cameras in the hallway.

Now you can feel relieved. We are still governed and completely observed only by human beings, not yet by aliens or IT algorithms. lol

Perhaps the person filming was testing out the government's latest espionage tactics ?

Maybe a person dressed as a woman, you know all the posters on here who have been saying stuff about them cross dressers..............................who says it was a woman holding the camera............just saying

What is happening ???.we are having perverts in the diet building???

The bets are in as to which politician was the pervert.

Clearly the pervert could be identified by the security cameras outside the toilet area but seems like a cover up as other commenters have mentioned!

I think we all have the names of at least 4 or 5 people who work in that building who we are thinking about how wonderful it would be if security cameras caught video of one of them running out of that bathroom and they at some point have to explain that in the Diet.

Two 'invasions' of a sort of two national houses of legislative deliberation, here and in the U.S.. Notice any cultural differences in behavior? Notice any cultural similarities in behavior? To this latter point, BOTH are acts of POLITICAL VIOLENCE.

I can see it now in the news headlines!

"Police are looking for a male with black hair, a suit and a white mask! Anyone with information please call this number!"
