The ecstasy allegedly produced has not been found and has "probably been discarded," added the official, who asked to remain anonymous.

There were however strange reports of students on campus dancing to Drum N Bass like melonheads.

Japan has thoroughly researched these types of drugs and there seems to be a ready supply of ‘shabu’ here in Japan-maybe the professor was getting his students ready for lucrative employment somewhere.

Seriously, I truly pity anyone who needs a drug in order to be energetic or empathetic or experience pleasure.

I've never needed a drug to be energetic, empathetic, or to experience pleasure.

But I've sure enjoyed those things when on drugs.

Well, I can not comprehend this. He must have known how to make the drug. So, he didn't 'get them to produce it' just in order to consume it himself. So, why would he take such an obvious risk and get himself busted? On the other hand, if, for whatever reason, he simply wanted the students to take MDMA, why wouldn't he just offer it to them? There is something goofy here.

Might be a useful practical skill if they can't find suitable employment.

Good lord, seriously no one was hurt, no damage done. The alleged crime was? Making something that was discarded? And even if was used what crime was committed? Being too happy, too empathetic? Judges look down on that type of behavior.

There are many different kinds of pleasures. One of them involves ecstasy. Pleasures are not on/off switches. Some pleasures even involve pain: spicy food, exercise, and the stuff my girlfriend is into.

I hope he got the students to stamp the pills with little Mitsubishi symbols.

If governments were not infested with ignorant, irresponsible, anti-science control freaks who for the last 70 years have hindered scientific research into mind drugs (except for purposes of torture) , MDMA and other psychedelic pharmaceutical products would be available as medicine today to alleviate the suffering of millions whose lives have been blighted by alcoholism, depression, bi-polar conditions, autism , anomie, alienation, anxiety and stress caused by the myriad social injustices of modern dog-eat-dog societies. Thankfully, more and more people are becoming aware of the benefits of psychedelic substances and one day governments will have to acknowledge their grave error in banning scientific research as well as accepting their criminal role in incarcerating those who sought to reveal the truth of psychedelic drugs.

@jennischiebel

I agree with your post but apparently you didn’t know that the entire world is supposed to legalize drugs because nothing could ever go wrong and the posters here know everything there is to know about how wonderful drugs are. I made the mistake of posting recent evidence that marijuana can have negative side-effects. Did that ever make some heads explode!

You are misquoting and straw manning the article. It states a "heightened" sense of these characteristics.

Hmm, it happened in 2013 and they don't have any evidence other than his word. Unless he made a pallet of money, got rid of bodies by putting them in acid in a bathtub or blown half of someone's face off, I'd say all he deserves is a slap on the wrist

Could have at least got the drug right...wasn't it meth, not mdma?

Also, why didn't he apply for the license? He probably would have received it. There's not way he just forgot to do it.

how dare he!

There is absolutely no place in society for energy, empathy or pleasure.

Yes, of course -- because it's absolutely impossible to have energy, empathy, or pleasure unless one uses Ecstasy.

Prosecutors might actually benefit from trying it!
