NO HARM NO CRIME, so what is the problem? Tattoo shop, brothels, sex bars are no different with far more risk and harm and most have NO license. just because they were operating in a cheap apt that they can afford and managed to advertise using social media, they probably did not manage to get a lic. because they did not know how or it costs too much$$., at least they are not prostituting.

No health problems have been reported from the patients, the couple was arrested for performing medical procedures such as double eyelid surgery. I would only think the service must have been very good and too good that by word of mouth legal doctors heard about it and someone turned them in. What they should have did was go back to Vietnam and open a business instead of Japan where the sentence will be much stiffer.

"I studied online and listened to my relative who is a doctor,"

I have no doubt at all about his expertise. :))

allegedly performed numerous procedures including lip filler injections on at least about 50 people between last November and January, raking in about 4 million yen, the police said.

Well, you get what you paid for. I doubt anyone had a gun to those 50 people's heads.

If you're willing to get cosmetic surgery at someone's house out in the suburbs, you're already not the sharpest tool in the shed.

at a cheaper price than that of legitimate clinics, according to the police.

They had the better deals, can't hate on that.

80,000 per person is cheap, I guess the quality of the service was also the same!!!

Vanity isn't a crime, neither is stupidity.

But if you are both, then you deserve what you get!!!

No tax paid. Good money working illegally.

Do they even have a work visa ? (Before they lose it if any)

That's 2 caught but they will do like in their country, third world things.

Each day Japan getting closer to larger immigration issues.

"I have been interested in cosmetic surgery from a young age, and I studied online and listened to my relative who is a doctor,"

Oh, wait, you studied online and listened to someone who also is a "doctor"? Oh....well that makes everything a lot better! You're free to go!

What a stupid reason to put other people's lives at risk! Its like me saying "I looked at many pictures of trains and I heard someone say the train is coming, so I became a train driver!"

While the perpetrators are reprehensible, their customers are brain dead idiots!

"I have been interested in cosmetic surgery from a young age, and I studied online and listened to my relative who is a doctor,"  investigators quoted Nhung as saying.

It is possible that Nhung has worked as an assistant for her relative for years before she set up her own. To crack down on tax evasion and protect public health and the integrity of the cosmetic profession, the Japanese Police should question Nhung's relative.

It appears being related to a doctor causes you to gain a medical degree by osmosis.

No health problems have so far been reported from the patients, according to the police.

so (at the moment) they have a skill level equal to a doctor. Think that’s the part that hurts.

I believe the kids say “it’s not brain surgery”

Everyone else seems to be an authority on everything by reading up online, guess they felt they were qualified

If they were Brazilian, it would have been the Brazilian butt lift or butt enhancers.

this is beyond scary. treating a cold or an aching muscle is one thing, but cosmetic surgery at home? What were they, and especially what were their customers thinking??

Can't find a job so why not pretend to be a Doctor? Is that right?
