About Y5 mi stolen from liquor store’s safe

Nearly 5 million yen in cash was reported stolen from a liquor shop’s safe in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, police said Monday.

According to police, the incident occurred at a liquor store in Kanesawa-cho, sometime between 8:30 p.m. Saturday, when the store closed, and early Sunday, Fuji TV reported.

At 9 a.m. on Sunday, an employee discovered that the window on the second floor, where the office is, had been shattered and the store’s safe had been pried open with approximately 5 million yen stolen.
