I sympathize to victims of sexual violence and sexual molestation case. However anyone can be accused for being sexual molestation offender or groper in the train because someone simply felt something from behind regardless who did the actual touch then the victim pointing a blame finger toward you even you are clueless what's really going on. So if new bill came up I expect they improve on how they handle wrongly accused people.

They can make tougher penalties all they want, but until they start actually enforcing them it's only lip-service. It was only a couple of weeks ago they let off a bunch of rapists and sexual assaulters with suspended sentences. Doesn't sound like you can get any easier.

I don't think raising the minimum period for rape is a good thing, definitely the maximum period though..

@sakurasuki &smithinjapan - Great points. They really need to be careful about giving stiffer penalties to gropers. There has to be proof. None of this, "She-said-it-so-it-must-be-true-nonsense." But they can raise the penalties all they want to, but if you are handing out suspended sentences than it is meaningless. I want to see them give rapist harsher penalties and upon release they publish the person's name and address wherever they go so that we know where they are. I don't believe that anyone should have a right to privacy if they have raped someone. The public needs to know where you are at all times. How about if convicted, no suspended sentences allowed? That I could go for!
