The big question is what is Japan going to do about this? And here's a hint............

Be like Israel and send in the Mossad to serve up some justice.
extanker
What do you expect them to do? Look how rushing in to Afghanistan looking for revenge turned out for the US. We're still there 20 years later.
William77
But unlike Israel you don’t have the Mossad.
Wakarimasen
clearly a motivated and compassionate man. tragic to be killed like this.
However, not the first and won't be the last pointless death in a conflict that has been entirely pointless.
No Business
It's not been entirely pointless though. The US can now steal all of Afghanistan's vast mineral reserves. That was the real reason for the original invasion anyways, as anyone with half a brain can realize:

He spent his life in rugged mountains to save lives not the other way around.

Everyone is mourning in Afghanistan for Uncle Murad #Nakamura RIP.
He was awarded Afghanistan Honorable Nationality recently and sadly it happened to him what is happening to an average of 100 Afghans on daily basis Killed without knowing why??
I am speechless
Sorry NAKAMURA san my 5 Afghans (Bodyguards and driver) tried to protect you by sacrificing their blood on the spot but we failed to protect you
Rest in Peace
申し訳ありません

Well said goldenagleToday, but I think he means revenge not justice.
Toasted Heretic
I doubt he would have wanted that. Nobody wants that.

Pretty sure that, if the Torah were rewritten for the twenty-first century, "Don't be like Israel..." would be in there somewhere....

Let the Afghanistan authorities investigate the crime, and take the necessary action under Afghanistan law.

So well said Idrees Naeemy. Its comments like this that that are what is needed right now. My heart is broken over this terrible news.
The good Dr. was such special man. A Saint really. A rare and unquie man willing to go to bat for the Afghan people when others could care less. God bless you sir. May you rest in peace with what ever higher power you believed in.
As a former tactical expert on the Afghan terrain and the on Taliban, we can look at the why it happened to a good man in service to the Afghan people another day.
I will take a moment of silence after this comment.
Man my heart breaks. Dr. Nakamura was worthy of the Noble peace prize for his works. Such a loss.

I just discovered this short documentary by NHK on YouTube.

Good for those to watch who may not know who Dr. Nakamura was or his work.
Wakarimasen
No
Really? so the US have been "stealing" Afghan minerals in the decade and more they have been there. I hadn't heard......

Well I knew nothing about this man, until reading this article. But either way, it is such a tragedy.
And I’m actually in Japan right now, on a vacation actually. i’m in Tokyo right now, and I’ve been checking out some of the sites, including the Buddhist temples and a Shinto shrine. Next time I go to one of those, I’ll offer up some prayers for him. Indeed, may he rest in peace.
voiceofokinawa
A great man worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize.

Mr. Nakamura has accomplished things and touched and impacted so many lives during the 11 years in Afghanistan than most of us will ever do in our entire lifetime. Thank you and RIP!
sir_bentley28
What I meant was "How will Japan prevent something like this from happening again?"
