An employee of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Fisheries was arrested Thursday for forcible obstruction of business after he reportedly made obscene phone calls to a Kita-Kyushu secondary school student, telling her how attractive her school uniform was. Norio Hashimoto, 43, an animal quarantine officer, was quoted by police as saying, "I'm interested in uniforms."
According to police, Hashimoto phoned the girl 10 times between July 9 and Oct 10, disturbing her with statements like, "I want one of your school uniforms. You can attack someone and take their uniform," "Where can I buy a uniform?" and "I want to wear one too."
Police said that in the background of Hashimoto's calls, station announcements could be heard, leading authorities to believe they were made from public telephones. A police patrol near JR Okura station was finally able to apprehend Hashimoto in the act of making a call.
From the time the phone calls began, teachers at the school and police officers in the area were put on alert to watch students when they commuted to school.© News reports
