Akihabara marks 10th anniversary of deadly stabbing rampage

Didn't even know about either of these attacks until this article, unfortunately its not just Western Countries experiencing crazies taking their problems out on strangers.

Wow! Ten years already. I remember it very well. I guess it's difficult to forget such an event. I also remember the school stabbings in Osaka coz it was a week after I arrived in Japan. I remember the Osaka event not only because of just arriving in Japan, but I remember the news reflecting on another mass-killing at an Osaka elementary school where the heads of the victims were placed on fence posts at the school in the mid-90's

Don't want to go off topic but this is proof that even without guns, people will find a way to carry out mass murders like these.

Why was the Ikeda killer executed within 1 year of sentencing being finalized, but the Akiba guy is still rotting on my tax dollars 3 years later??

Very few bad things happen in Japan like this, so 10 years goes by very quickly without forgetting the event.

It was Kobe not Osaka. There was one head left at the gate of a school. There were two victims killed at the hands of "Seito Sakakibara" and in no way did that incident, as terrible as it was, fit the definition of a mass murder or mass killing.

Mass murder is the deliberate illegal killing of a large number of people by a person or an organization.

If someone wakes up today hellbent on killing you or a member of the general public - they will attept to do it by any means or tools at their disposal...car, knife, baseball bat, poison, bare hands, etc.
