Why don't these people concentrate on their own country and not others? They'd hate the J witness coming to their door to tell them how to live so don't do unto others as you wouldn't want them to do to you.

Amnesty International says at least 470 people were put to death in >China last year, down from an estimated 1,010 in 2006, San Francisco-based Dui Hua Foundation, says its research indicated about 6,000 people were executed in 2007, a 25 to 30% drop from the year before. The Rome-based Hands Off Cain, estimated that China executed least 5,000 >people in 2007

So...why are these people not doing their skit in front of the Chinese Embassy?

Japan hanged three death-row inmates last month, bringing the number of >executions there this year to 13 _ up from just one inmate executed in >2005.

Did all these people fail math or do they all not understand priority?

Death penalty should be all around the world, for a very serious crimes. People demonstrating against such punishment are not thinking of victims and their relatives.Abolishing death penalty will increase crimes across the board and every country in the the world will have to build new prisons every year.

The death penalty is a witness of human failure. I say let them voice their opinion.

Actually, I once supported AI, until I discovered their funding filtered through an Israeli organization which paid them to be silent about Palestine, and Israel's plan for their extermination. Lotza cash from the USA for that one. Do your homework! (No, I'm not some conspiracy nut...check this out: http://www.ifamericansonlyknew.org/) Unfortunately, this diminished their efforts, in my opinion.

What a bunch of kooks! Why do they care so much about the scum of the earth? How about channeling energy toward building one room school buildings in Africa? or raising money for mosquito nets? There are so many needy people in the world and these idiots have a ha*d on for vicious murderers. Ridiculous!

Miscarriages of justice are a fact of life, they happen. To all those in favour of the death penalty i ask..are you prepared to be executed or have a member of your family executed knowing you/them to be innocent? if you are then i accept your opinions about the death penalty, if you are not prepared to be that innocent person why do you support a system of punishment that ensures others suffer this fate..however rarely it may be. You might say it is ok to suffer a few miscarriages in order to maintain the deterant effect of the death penalty..i say not even 1 wrong conviction in 1,000 is acceptable. People make mistakes..its difficult to rectify them after death. This in no way means that i have a "hard on" for the disgusting perpetrators of these obscene acts and only the congenitally insane could suggest such a ridiculous idea. Instead of the death penalty..life with hard labour.

'knowing you/them to be innocent? " ...and if knowing you/them to be 100% guilty? When there is no doubt, execute them!

Chestnutroastin Absolutely perfect!!!

Bento Only thing I would agree with is your last sentence, but with one modification; life with hard labour that eventually kills them.

In order for the dead penalty to be abolished, the amnesty international activists should tell the involved government that they are willing to spend their own money to give food and shelter to all the criminals. This way, the government of each countries can relocate the taxpayer money spend in accommodating criminals into other things that can benefit its citizen. This is the best and only way for the world to abolish capital punishment.

Imagine, amnesty international running prisons with their own money and not the taxpayers'. Amnesty Internatioal taking full responsibility when it comes to criminals' right to live. This kind of solution should be encourage.

The death penalty will be abolished when people stop murdering other people intentionally. Until that happens, they need to get off their crack pipes and focus on the ones that go around killing innocent people, instead of the ones that are doing their duty for society.
