Hive mind? Other people, who aren't fascists in places of authority, recognize democracy when they see it.
I do not agree with all hacktivist targets. But I sure hope they keep up their attacks on these fascists and their brethren, until those anti-freedom measures in Congress get tossed out permanently.

to hurt people, really?
sigh
Maybe you should try sticking up for what you believe once in a while. While I don't condone the method they go about doing their things, at least they aren't part of the sheep flock and actually stick up for their own beliefs.

I don't get the reasoning for the US Government to callow to corporate demands over and over. So no one goes to jail for destroying your financial system, but they're going to aim the police at downloaders because of the utter failure of the music and movie industries??? They let the digital sales ruin their own businesses. If they want it all back they'd have to go back to analog.
Now the government is cracking down and the people for freedom are fighting back. America being run by corporations will probably end up like China as well. Instead of communism though it is now The United Corporations of America.
OWS was a start. This looks like to be a more technical version of it.
Please wake up America, we want you back to championing freedom.

and they took it down lol say no to sopa!

While I don't support everything they do, I acknowledge that they have done some good. For example we'll use some of those sickos that put up videos or photos of themselves torturing animals and think they're never going to get caught. 4Chan users succeeded in identifying them, which resulted in the police paying the abusers a little visit. Again, I don't support all they do, but sometimes it's good to see people taking action.

It's like reading about 19th century train barons getting the Government on their side . This time it's working since America isn't protesting at all

I dunno what you think, regardless of their intentions and goals, I think tricking people via clickfraud to launch LOIC and thus DDoS attacks, unbeknownst, is underhanded, in the least and frankly dishonest. So, for example, you clicked on one of their twitter #OP....upload links, that triggered your system into an involuntary and non-consensual attack on their target of the day.
Now, if they disclosed and you volunteered, fine. But they didn't, they just did it. That's sneaky and a very poor PR move.

I know one of Anonymous, he is a great guy, I fully support him and AnonOps, though not participating in attacks.
Expect us. We don't forgive. We don't forget. We'll free Internet. We'll save freedom.

Freedom isn't free. Since there is no other way, you would have them sit on their hands while the corporations rule us through the government and police, all because something is dishonest just to the point that Anonymous memebers can stay out of jail.
Or perhaps you would like them to wear uniforms and attack the FBI servers with screwdrivers and crowbars?
m5c32
You're presenting a false choice. And, they're only dosing the FBI b/c it took one of their favorite movie pirating sites off-line, not because they really believe the FBI is evil and an enemy they need to bring down due to ethical issues, no. It was more like the FBI hit one of our friends, wah, wah, let's show them who boss is!
They would have more support if they:
1 respected users and didn't (ab)use them; possibly exposing the unsuspecting users to investigation
2. targeted worthwhile sites instead of random (whimsical) targets. (i.e. people we don't like today') 'Why don't hey go after the Mexican cartels which are actually causing mayhem --disclose them) or target the FSB and its machinations offing dissidents in Russia? You know why not? B/c neither orgs are affecting their access to warez and movies.
3. acted more maturely. they need better governance/guidance
Exactly right --but Anon is trying to have its cake and eat it too. People who care are the people like Assange. His personal problems apart, you can at least respect the guy for putting his life on the line for his beliefs. He doesn't hide behind a mask when the chips start falling.
