They are a group of like minded people with an exceedingly loose and decoupled organizational structure.

Would you prefer more structured terrorist groups like the Proud Boys and all the other right-wing militias that the FBI and Homeland Security have pointed out are the actual danger in America?

They do have an organizational structure or else you wouldn’t have people doing the same things with the same tactics in locations widely apart from one another.

Um, it doesn't say much for your intelligence if you think the conclusion you made can be logically gleaned from the point you preceded it with.

It’s kind of like Al Qaeda in the way they operate. Not saying they are the same thing exactly of course.

Of course they aren't - right-wing extremists are much more in line with Al Qaeda than antifa.

Antifa are actually more in line with ISIS. People who had no contact with ISIS did terrorist attacks, and claimed it was for ISIS.

The protesters are mainly violent, far-left organizations like Chukaku-ha.

They have been involved in a number of violent incidents.

They were also arrested for assaulting riot police during a protest against the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

re unlawful assaults on law enforcement, good to see someone trying to educate rather that conflate the issue:

- [Sounds like what Antifa does to police every day…must be their branch in Japan.

- @4:23am: “In reality, Antifa not a well-structured organization, but a loosely organized, secretive movement of like-minded far-left activists… no leaders, no hierarchy, no formal membership. Instead, the activists organize in small units called “affinity groups.” -

A single old fella kicks a cop in a protest. Compared with the chaos we are seeing in the outside world this is almost endearing. Idiot yes, but no need for pepper spray and batons. Always a bonus.

You see these old angry ex tough guys out at festivals sometimes, trying to pick fights with cops. Always been impressed at how the cops would do next to nothing, and let the old codgers just get it out. They tended to just get tired and walk off in a huff. Had their drunken say, but the hand cuffs never come out.

Plus, these daily ‘News’ articles always stress the NPA is there to protect the ‘citizens’ of Japan and not ‘just JOCLDP interests’.

You have quite a prolific and unique posting style you sweet summer child.

protests are good but kicking no.

We all know about the crowd restrictions @Tokyoite 8:52pm and the school children being put ‘on display’ to make up for the present lack of interest by the same profiteers that really only wanted ‘The Olympics’ to go on. - Was asking about the pledged show of support by many here since May when JOC announced it would continue ‘at any cost’. Where are They now? Still arguing daily about ‘test numbers’ and not encouraging these challenged individuals? Don’t see their support. Those threads are bare.

Catch them fort tiny infractions is the modus operandi of Japanese police oppression.

Yes, there were 140 riot police at Kyoto University in June to arrest one left-wing lad for incorrectly filling out a driving licence renewal form. The kind of scenes you'd expect to see in Russia:

Acknowledged & admitted to @Tokyoite 7:51pm, it was a “whataboutism”. - Still, peaceful protests are no reason to shove ‘girls in Tokyo’, don’t you agree? And, to be fair to the ‘pros’ battalion, how about those Australians and getting the first Paralympic GOLD? Sure hope to see all the true false banner waiving ‘Pros’ offering individual encouragement and “Congratulations!” to each & every medal winner in these Paralympics. Looked for them there but not much in the way of interest in the Paralympics or comments?

A lot of people would love the opportunity to attend and watch the athletes from their country and others perform.

Alas, due to political pressure, spectators are mostly not allowed (unlike baseball, j League and sumo). However, there plans for a few hundred school children to attend each event to offer support and hopefully be inspired by the experience.

Now, let’s remaim peaceful if you’re dissatisfied with something. Presence in numbers is one thing; destruction in unlawful. - Plus, these daily ‘News’ articles always stress the NPA is there to protect the ‘citizens’ of Japan and not ‘just JOCLDP interests’.

Any reason for the protest given?

To answer your questions, perhaps it’s best you don’t resist or make any movement that could be interpreted as “kicking” police. Go voluntarily and let the J ‘justice system’ work. - With appropriate remorse and penance, you may be exonerated and allowed to return to a normal life.

Reads like someone else(?) who’s ALWAYS (Daily) pointing the finger outward at other countries and away from the realities of life in Japan, doesn’t it?

Seems the police may have been doing their own bit of shoving? of females during the protests? (Retweeting a retweet from a source close:)

I have seen these protestors. Awful people some of them. The police did everything they could to make these protest goes smoothly but are treated as horribly by these protestors. You should have seen how they behave during these protest. I saw 1 of them for no reason get all in the face of the police officer and intentionally try to pick a a fight.

These protestors seems to forget that the police there are just doing their job and are actually has to accompany them the whole day in the sun for hours without food and water. Not to mention risk getting infected. Even the most polite officers has their limits too. These protestors are constantly testing how far they and intentionally trying to get a reaction from the police.

Some of these protestors remind me of people when things don't go their way, they would start to send threats and behave violent toward others just to make a point. And then act as a victim and complain they got mistreated when there is a response.

A kick by a 52-year-old man.

How old was the Police Officer?

What's the relevance? If the attacker is older than the victim, does that make it acceptable?

Strange logic. Then again, warped logic is hardly unusual among the "anti" brigade who regularly comment here on JT.

It's one thing to protest, but it's another thing to kick a Police Officer.

@michael machida

Your statement is laughable. You clearly don’t know what government oppression is.

I seriously doubt that the Olympics impacted your life in anyway. I know it didn’t negatively impact anyone around me.

We are all frustrated at the way the Japanese Government, the Police, the Politicians, the Bach's, oppress the people of Japan every single day.

People are angry at all of you.

So glad the Police Officer is doing fine after such a kick from an older gentleman. I am sure the kick was that like from Superman or Batman.

Or maybe Gundam?

Wow! Such a big deal.

Poor boo-bee!
