Police are investigating three suspicious fires in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, which occurred on Monday night.
In the first fire, flames were seen coming from a vacant store in Higashihara at around 11:45 p.m., TV Asahi reported.
Shortly after, about 800 meters away, two other vacant houses were reported to be on fire.
Police said the fires are probably the work of the same arsonist.

Just across the tracks from me. Also we had 2 arson attacks at the university next door a couple months ago. There's a maniac looking for trouble out there.
