Police in Osaka on Wednesday arrested a part-time researcher at a circulatory organ illness research center over the burning of burning bikes on Dec 23. The man, who has been identified as Takeshi Matsushita, 31, told police, "It was Christmas and everyone seemed to be having fun. I got frustrated because I had nothing to do."

According to police, Matsushita is believed to have set fire to a motorcycle and three bicycles outside his apartment block at around 2:25 a.m. on Dec 23. There were no witnesses, but he was caught on security cameras and later identified. Police are currently investigating the possibility of his involvement in six other cases of arson that have taken place at the apartment since January this year.

Wow arsonists are lonely people with no friends. Imagine that.

It was bicycles, not motorbikes. I saw them on the news. Scorched paint and melted tires, nothing to write home about.
