An assistant prosecutor at the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office has been arrested for allegedly molesting a woman on a JR train. The incident is alleged to have taken place on April 12 at around 10:30 p.m. on a Tohoku line train between Nishi-Nippori and Tabata stations. The victim, a 32-year-old female company employee claims that Toshiyuki Negishi, 57, lifted her coat from behind and began to touch her. She then disembarked, as did Negishi, at Tabata Station, at which point she grabbed him and called out for station staff.
According to Takinogawa police, Negishi said he was intoxicated at the time of the alleged groping. Police say Negishi has denied the accusation. Later on, Negishi claimed not to remember the incident, police said.© Compiled from news reports
