@ oldman
"Good. Should've been a longer sentence than 9 years." He probably wont survive in there.

@foreignbrotherhoodarmy
"Oh he is done for."
yes sir:
"In Australian prisons, infectious diseases are frequently transmitted due to unsatisfactory hygiene levels, sex and the sharing of needles" AND" Corona virus is a ticking time bomb for the Australian prison population"

Oh he is done for. A little Japanese guy in an Australian prison for 9years. I doubt his English is any good either
Trapped
I applaud your^^^^ longing for more realistic sentencing for brutal crimes, yet these drugs are brutal to whole societies, so 9 years sets a nice example, but don't discount the danger of the act committed.

Lucky he chose Oz as a destination, and not one of its neighbours to the north.
Btang
He'll be servicing his inmates for years to come.

Good. Should've been a longer sentence than 9 years.

4.5 five years before parole. Unless he becomes a problem inmate he will be out in 4 with good behaviour. A very uncomfortable 4 years.

he'll be welcomed to the locked down boosie.

What about the other charge of being an idiot ?

Good job Oyama. At least now you can study English more. Enjoy your cellmates.

He will greatly miss Japanese food. Bland western food is as much as he can expect and fish once a week if he gets lucky. Gluey rice and bad cheap noodles will be the high point of his diet. Hard years ahead for this poor wretch.

After this Japanese man stop in Australia, what his next destination? Is it Japan? If so we know where those item come from then by who.
Do the hustle
Do the crime, do the crime! I reckon he got off pretty lightly although, his time in an Aussie prison is going to feel much much longer than 4-9 years.

This is a bit annoying. If a New Zealand National commits a crime, they are deported back to N Z.
It does not matter if a New Zealander has lived in Australia for 30 years, they are deported.
So why is this Japanese National not deported?

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and this is extremely crazy talk from left field and probably no basis in reality as it's so crazy, but I'm wondering if there is no agreement between Australia and Japan equivalent to the one you speak of between Australia and NZ.
But no, that can't be the case could it? All countries have the exact same agreements with every other country that they deal with, don't they? There's no discrepancies, are there? Couldn't be - that would be madness. MADNESS!

" feel much much longer"
feel is right he'll be feeling longs ones packing him routinely.

For those who believed he should get lighter sentence. Sit back and take a moment and to think about the people who will consume this extremely addictive crap. The after consequences of this addiction are enormous. This will have extreme negative impact economically, socially, mentally, physically and financially affecting them, their families, their communities and their country. Just think of the chain reactions this addictive crap can cause. Let say he is very lucky to get caught in Australia, he never have to serve out his 9 years sentence. Australia is a soft touch for criminal.
kurisupisu
He would have a worse time in his country of origin though...
thepersoniamnow
Interesting how many people here think he should receive longer than 9 years.
Things like this are not as bad as knowingly hurting others, raping and maiming, and things like that.

Aussie prisons are like a bad holiday... My buddy became a good chess and tennis player there.
