And, no club in Australia will have him either. He’s future looks gray. Perhaps he could be an Uber driver. :D

arrested on suspicion? If I had a nickel...

Idiot. NEC were dumb for hiring a rugby league player though.

Naughty, naughty, very naughty

The only good thing about this is that professional sports are not exactly the brightest so they are usually caught quickly.

Unfortunately all of the "skilled migrants" and "international students" that flood the country have that market locked down.

Only arrested on suspicion? Yet they still fire him? Innocent until found guilty anyone? Suspend him pending the outcome by all means and fire him if found guilty, but this is to pre-judge the case; trial by media.
Rob Nads
There's a difference between say "suspected" rape and "suspected" drug possession. One is pretty evident upon the facts. If he was arrested for possession of cocaine, then it's pretty fair to say the idiot was carrying some nose beers on him.

I don’t think a ballet dancer could have done the job…..of playing rugby!
Sven Asai
Yes, obviously, when seeing the picture. But what interests me even more is how do all those similar looking ones, also from other sports , manage to not being caught. Is it pure daily luck in streaks or paying silencing bribes etc. for not being followed because the whole drug scene and pro sports are quite economic factors? I don’t know. Anyway, that caught one is better than none.

fired, but his visa will remain valid as he needs to be in japan to learns his fate in court - then his visa will be canceled, deported and blacklisted for 5 years. all without playing a game for his 'new' team. idiot.

@SvenAsai
Kind of a dumb question.
How do some thieves, murderers and rapists not get caught?
Are they paying the police off too or part of a big conspiracy?
Or maybe they just manage to avoid attention and detection….
Khaos
Maybe, for a moment, imagine that the suspicion turns out false.

@Khaos
He got caught in possession of cocaine and presumably there are witnesses to the assault.
I think it’s fair to say it’s above suspicion and he’s banged to rights.
Alan Harrison
Has he even been charged (indicted) yet?
Kevin
Hope that was a good high, he's going to pay for it.

Who was responsible for vetting this guy? Whoever made the decision to hire this guy should also be fired because they are incompetent. He has been involved in several controversies. Its not the first time he has assaulted someone. He was charged by police for an alleged Indecent Assault at the Sutherland Shire nightclub.

People intoxicate themselves legally in Japan every day. This person's offense was in going off the list of approved drugs, and choosing a non-approved drug with which to intoxicate yourself.

Tattooed his name on his arm because he kept forgetting it. One look at this yobbo and it's clear that he has a room temperature IQ.

If Mr. Ferguson had not fallen into the net of the Law, what harm might he have done to himself, other, or his team that a night out 'drinking' would not have made much more likely?
Ethanol producing and marketing Corporations RULE in Japan and many more lives will be, as we have seen so tragically in America, damaged by both Laws and Ethanol addiction than by relatively nontoxic 'recreational substances'. In America, our greatest spontaneous outbreaks of 'group involved' violence are invariably associated with 'alcohol friendly' events as is familial violence and suicide. But Ethanol is a 'religion' level obligatory ingestive for our young and continues on to adulthood and early death in those who cannot learn, cannot see, what ingesting a mildly poisonous organic solvent with effects very similar to inhaling volatile organics such as gasoline. KAMPAI !!

I can just imagine seeing him in the bar, when this happened
Kyo wa heiwa dayo ne
What about his jail time and sentence ?
Is he getting deported and banned from Japan.
Only losers use drugs !
Stewart Gale
@kyo wa heiwa…
Of course he will be deported and banned from Japan.
I would argue that only losers get drunk every night too, as is the Japanese Salaryman and many Gaijin style.
Or, presumably you think this is OK because it’s legal, therefore deemed socially acceptable.

It is a stimulant. So, it may very well contribute to aggression in some people. If you combine it with the increased alcohol consumption, which often goes along with coke use, it is a very real possibility.
