“Oh, it’s absolutely rubbish, there is no IS in the country, no way,” Bangladeshi Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan told The Associated Press on Sunday. “Why would IS do this here? These are incidents for creating instability in the country.” Of coarse they are going to say that! Irregardless if ISIS was involved or not.... but to think there is absolutely no ISIS in Bangladesh....hmmmm.... and the pope is not catholic...
smithinjapan
"She said the two killings were similar and that the same people were likely behind both of them."
So, even if it wasn't IS, then, how is it an 'isolated incident' if both were done by the same people?
nath
Yeah, fear makes people see the boogieman in all dark corners.
roughneck
Yeah, and that invisible boogieman killed Kunio Hoshi.
descendent
@roughneck
Don't forget about the 1% Buddhist extremists! Apparently there are increasing numbers of Buddhists from Myanmar settling around Takadanobaba.
And what about the 1% Christian extremists? I hear there are increasing numbers of Christians from countries in the west settling in central Tokyo as well.
Peace Out
Maybe neither are actually lying or being so irrational.
Imagine this: A wannabee in Bangladesh contacts ISIS and tells of his admiration and willingness to help. He speaks on his own about committing some terrorist attacks in Bangladesh. ISIS says "Go for it esteemed friend!".
So he succeeds, and now he is considered an honorary member of ISIS, a position that ISIS may hold in honor, but the country's security forces are going to scoff at saying he is not a real, trained member, but just an honorary wannabee.
I would have to take the official version in that case. I highly doubt any "real" ISIS members would be bothering with minor attacks in Bangladesh while the Syrian civil war continues. And so it would be a wild goose chase to start reacting as if ISIS is really operating in Bangladesh. If they are looking for a rank amateur, they should proceed as if they are looking for a rank amateur.
roughneck
@descendent, why don't you tell all about the Buddist/Christian/other religion's extremist operative group operating in multiple countries with the primary objective to either convert or kill all other religions.
Gon Mike
ISIS is in the 7th century , not 21th century , If they faced horrific situation like EU medieval crusade era ( their holy book will be turned into the war book when money runs out the dirty morals will float over so they know that very well and their place is to hide in the shadows only ) all countries adhering by that religion is unsustainable soon will be back to their old habits pre-islamic era
DaDude
Didn't realize all other religions besides Islam are 100% pure-hearted.
Wakarimasen
ISIS is fast becoming like a franchise, with branches in most of the Muslim nations of the world. Weird.
toshiko
Isis stated it killed. Japanese Neither Myanmar nor Christian did not declare. Bangladesh official must be guessing if it says no ISIS there, it will get economical aids from Japan. Opposite result follows,
Harry_Gatto
The bottom line being that Bangladesh is a basket-case, don't even think about going there.
shonanbb
Bangladesh has no world heritage sites, so not really worth going to.
Badge213
Sure you want to double check on that?
shonanbb
I will double check it but still not going there to prove a point.
Disillusioned
This old fella needs to settle down or he is going to give himself an aneurism! There have been a few Japanese killed in foreign countries over recent years and I don't recall this kind of outburst previously.
toshiko
@Disillusioned. Suga has been outspoken. His job is not to settle down but keep speaking for Japan,
Peace Out
I am sure there is nothing political about the reports of his "outrage".
HAAA-HAAA-HAAA-HAAAAA!
sillygirl
Can we please express outrage at ANYONE being killed
