21 Comments

The body of a newborn baby girl was found in garbage bag in Kobe on Thursday morning.

A local resident contacted police at around 1:30 a.m. to report that one of the garbage bags left out for collection contained an object shaped like a baby, Fuji TV reported.

Police rushed to the scene to find the dead, naked body of a baby girl in the bag which was left in the street. A police spokesperson said the child appeared to have been disposed of shortly after birth. Police said that there were no obvious injuries on the infant's body.

Human trash? The person responsible for doing this is the human trash! Another day in Japan, another child dead at the hands of a parent. Sickening!

Another mother of the year award. I hope they find out who it was and throw that person in the trash (or jail, anyway) as well. Sick society. Now, we don't know the circumstances of the baby's death -- it may well have been born dead, or died shortly after -- but regardless of when or how it died we need to get more baby hatches out there ASAP for the one's that are simply thrown out and left to die.

Just sick, sick, sick.

Wrong, why do people think this is an option, Japan needs to remove the social pressure on mothers and help people that dont have money or are young.

Well said smithinjapan. Baby hatches and education. Educate them to use the baby hatches or find another person to leave their baby with.

Dammit...not again! How many times this month??

Again?

It is a wonder how so many females bearing unwanted babies (I don't think I even want to use the term "mother") can give birth outside the hospital, with no treatment and still live their normal lives. Not ethical, but physically. I wonder...

This is the social problem that face around the world. The victims was an unborn child caused by pleasure between man and woman. So cruel.

Again, peeps, keep in mind there is nothing at all indicating cause of death. I'm not defending the person who left the baby there, man or woman, but it may well be another case of the infant dying and the family panicking and not taking care of the body properly. Still sick -- and there has been a rash of this (last week there was the mother who hid the baby in (or was it under?) the refrigerator after it died -- but I'm just saying it's all too easy to assume a mother (and I assumed it was the mother) tossed a live baby away because she didn't want it, and that may not be quite the case.

I still stand behind what I said on the baby hatches and education as well.

Why not take DNA samples of the residents in that area? To match with baby! RIP baby

@Waxman

That would be gross violation of privacy.

I'm gonna pretend I didn't just read this.

Disgusting people. How the F-CK can you, no matter how unwanted your baby might be, treat a living (or former living) being like this. Japan might be a wealthy country but when I rear things like this, it becomes more and more obvious that some people here lack certain human traits - thing that should be there, aren't. Pathetic person who did this...

God bless her soul.

Not ethical, but physically. I wonder... Wonder about what? Most of the world delivers their babies without doctors, nurses and fancy hospitals.

The women clearly needs her head examined. In a country that pushes abortion as a birth control method, there is no need for a baby to be discarded like this.

Saddens me so much. How many parents could offer a loving, nurturing environment? How many would say: We'd have looked after her, right here, in our home she could have become an active, loved member of OUR family.

This is sick, no doubt about it.

Without knowing the details, the mother or father are not fit to raise another child.

Then again, look at society in Japan - something isn't right in this country.

Incredibly high suicide rates, common stories of odd child abuse, child p0rn, massive problem with bullying and overall social structure, incompEtent Govt., and the list goes on.

Who do people turn to when they need help and advice? No-one. Then we get tragic stories like this.

You know if you don't want the child give her up for adoption their are plenty of men and women, wives and husbands who are so desperate in the their want to be a mother or father yet are incapable of having one of their that will gladly raise her, feed her, love her and give her a future (you know, like REAL HUMAN BEINGS DO)

If the babies dead (still-born, S.I.D.S, what have you) and you absolutely have to dispose of the corpse without letting those pesky authorities know about it. BURY IT. Give it some sense of dignity, don't throw it in the goddamn trashcan!

@tmarie

I wonder because there are so many problems that I can think of having a child without proper treatment, yet we have never heard of mothers hospitalized or dead because of such incident. So, these must be perfectly healthy people (physically, not mentally as you said), which wouldn't explain the usual excuse of still birth.

I don't think you will be reading this after all this time, but it's just my mind wandering...
