Time for AKACHAN POST in Okinawa too! This kind of news just breaks my heart! What kind of a fool would let a little baby girl die like this??? RIP little baby girl and may all those criminals involved be brought to justice soon!

You propose a list of hypothetical situations but then negate your own

statement by saying we shouldn't jump to conclusions. What is extremely rare? JT posters jumping to conclusions or reading about discarded infants?

It's very easy to get emotional when reading a story like this. After all, the victim was an innocent baby. Yet, I agree with 'alphawolf' in that we should refrain from jumping to conclusions as the facts aren't in yet. Still, even I can't help but think this crime seems befitting of a young girl who, out of fear, may have hid her pregnancy from her family, birthed the child alone, and then disposed of its body in the only manner she could think of. Stories like this have surfaced in the past, but hopefully the facts in this case will be revealed soon enough. I also agree with 'alphawolf' that it's good when stories like this are revealed. The way I see it, it's a step closer in reaching the justice that should be sought for the sake of the baby. How many other such similar stories like this have taken place without anyone ever being made aware (i.e. the public)? It's almost as if it never happened, and how unfair is that to the child? I think stories like this "should" be made public, in hopes that it will send a message that such crimes will "not" be tolerated, action "will" be taken, justice "will" be sought. But, that's just my opinion, though. (shrug)

Another discarded baby? Could be a good market for these kids in China. Just throw them on a container ship with the bicycles.

I wonder if the baby was already dead before ending up in the ocean. I wonder if the girl was raped. I wonder if she was overweight and didn't know she was pregnant (a few cases of that with adults). I wonder if the child was a result of an affair and husband didn't know about it. I wonder if the child would have been aborted at a hospital but the pregnancy was too far along to be done. There are a lot of questions. We shouldn't jump the conclusions until the facts come in. I think this is extreemly rare.

Even if the mother of the child did have any of the reasons as stated above, she doesnt have the right to dump the baby into the sea. Thats an act of MURDER. No matter how unwanted the baby is, at least the mother should be humane enough to bring the live baby to Akachan Post or find a foster parent for her or at least do the right thing to abort it when she had the chance to.

90 days sooner and this unwanted "thing" could have been legally done away with......... Amazing how some folks can twist their values and moral stance as circumstances dictate.

No, committing murder isn't right in my opinion unless in rare cases like self defense etc.. where did I say that it was okay? I said we shouldn't jump the conclusions (as you have done again).

alpha- So committing murder is okay under the circumstances you list? I can't imagine having the opinion you apparently have.

We should all say: 'Sickening of crimes!' It is duty of Media to inform public about crime issues. People must be aware daily how criminals are performing around the clock like Voltures and Barbarians. In my books JT is doing a very good job, and you people should learn a lot how to keep away from crimes and their scenes. We don't like crimes, and no one else in the world. From such articles public can prevent a lot of crimes or even helping police to close chapters fro victims. If people work together the world will be in much better position. About this girl, it is very sad to read such story, but the day will come when killer will be brought to justice or even noose from the hang man. RIP little girl, and your killer will be avanged with justice prescription.

Sickening. Even with sex education (which is supposed to inform people how to use birth control as well as avoid STDs) we still have ignorant people that just don't seem to understand they need to USE contraceptives if they wish to avoid pregnancy. Apparantly this mother took the time to carry the child to term then dumped the poor kid in a ditch... I really hate that. Not considering a newborn life sacred is disgusting.

I'm tired of seeing these articles... just disturbing how they continue to pop up. More disturbing is probably all of the articles we don't see that they keep quiet related to this.
