Mirai.
Agree, this country has some sick people. But I seen way worse, a friends 8yr old son got stabbed and his bicycle stolen in SA. The got the perps all were 9yrs old.

Ain't nothing like the South Bronx.

Sure Japan is no South Africa, no Soweto, no South Bronx, but we still have to be careful from these random nutcases! I do hope this little boy is getting better and that this idiot fool is ARRESTED ASAP and well if possible give this idiot fool criminal the DEATH PENALTY ASAP!!

Mabo?
Ever lived in South Africa? If not don't give an opinion, nor compare it. I took my honey-moon in Hong-Kong(Kowloon, etc) and felt safer there than walking around back in Joburg, ditto for central park.

Like many you got the totally wrong image about Soweto. It is a city and has got rich and poor suburbs, the president of IBM South Africa lived there on an estate that rivals Beverly Hills. And us non-soweto residents went there to party, best party all-around.
Agree that the guy should be apprehended soon but how to reconcile buddhist beliefs with a wanting him getting the death penalty. Confused.

Calm down, the death penalty is out of the question. However, let's hope the law catches this nutcase asap and gets him off the street.

It's got nothing to do with the country. The overwhelming majority of the people in this country are great, just like anywhere else in the world.
It's the screwballs and nut cases that worry me, and they are anywhere as well.

I hope they catch him and lock him up till he is not crazy anymore or dies of old age.
But if he trips and falls on his knife and dies that way I won't complain.
Hope the boy will recover both mentally and physically. So glad he got away with just a cut hand. (all assuming the lad is not telling stories).

Unfortunately the worse that will happen to this scumbag will be a suspended sentence. The courts, usually, do not hand down prison time for this kind of "incidents" by first-timers. That's how they see it. Horrible awful...I know.

Wait for it, there will be another story about a child being slashed by some nut case. This time a young girl near Saitama
I for one would love to have one of these butt heads try and do the same to me! Oh that's right, they only attack the helpless.
CrazyJoe
I did hear about the case in Matsudo Saitama today. A girl in second grade got stabbed in the side and back . There was another one not less than two weeks ago in nearby Misato Saitama where a junior high school got knifed in her face. I sure hope the cops catch these criminals real soon.

Poor lad. I sincerely hope he gets lots of support to move on from this. Bet he's jittery for a while when going outdoors. Children are such easy targets. What a coward.
bajhista65
Hayashi San...you're right. Japan is getting weirder daily. WTF is happening to Japan.
yourock
check out the kids story, sounds false. bet he made it up because of personal problems or seeking attention. same thing happened here (Kitakyushu) years ago. anyway, if true, hope they catch this coward.

I agree. If an adult is going to slash a 6-year-old with a knife, there's going to be a lot more damage than "a light wound to the palm of his right hand." This story smells funnier than last-week's tuna catch.

@Harry_Gatto
Is it? Better him than any kid.
Agreed.
I know your comment has the best intentions and maybe I'm being a little full on. But maybe being made a serious example of will give these guys something to think about.

Ohhh… Japan is being danger. Parents have to pay attention on their kids all the time and it will be hard on them. I think all of kids in Japan need escort on their way like a one parent takes 5 kids care or something like that. Or need to use school bus.
