Well, at 72 that is a life sentence. And I don´t expect the Phnon Pen Hilton to be comfortable. Tempted to say poor guy, but no he knew what he was doing.

This story sounds so much like so many others where foreigners go to countries such as these and get caught at the airport with drugs in their suitcases. Most of these foreign tourists claim they didn't know anything about it.

many things other people do often don’t make sense. We don’t know people’s story, we can’t expect to understand the things they do. That’s life!

Common sense if you think about it. How does the old codger know what to buy? How does he know who to buy from, or how much to pay? Once back in Japan, how does he know who to sell to? He is simply a mule being controlled by someone who is most likely in debt to. He does what he is told. His handlers write off his loss as a cost of business.

Not a smart cookie. He would have to pass through 3 countries drug searches, Japan and SK being some of the most strictest. Should of used a container ship like the rest do.

It is almost always because they are in debt to the yakuza - often a gambling debt. That's why they like loan sharking and such. They get massive interest. If not that, they get a willing slave to do their dirty work.
