Police in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, said Saturday they have arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of fatally beating his 43-year-old girlfriend.

According to police, Yasuhiro Ogawa, who works as a caregiver, beat his girlfriend about the head and face several times at their apartment at around 12:20 a.m. Saturday, Sankei Shimbun reported. He also kicked her in the stomach.

After assaulting his girlfriend, Ogawa called 119 for an ambulance. She was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries.

Police said Ogawa has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he got angry when he heard his girlfriend contact her former boyfriend that night.

I wonder if she was calling her ex to ask for help from her violent partner?

This poor, nameless woman spent her last minutes in pain and terror - as I don't doubt she had spent many previous minutes with that pos man.

Sounds more like a psychopath than a 'caregiver'.

Being jealous is just not worth it. With all the women in the world why get so attached & jealous over one woman ??  Now this guy has to deal with the legal system and probably do some jail time. He should have just put her belongings outside then put her outside and got a good nights sleep..

I just cannot understand this kind of crime! We are talking about someone's life here. If someone doesn't want to be with me, then I certainly would not want to force them to be with me. It would be miserable for both of us. But he actually KILLED her - beat her up and killed her. Just unfathomable to me.

@congito, your spot on. Also this is a typical sign of NPD which run rife here.
