Cat set on fire in Tokyo park

Police said Monday they are looking for the person or persons responsible for setting a cat on fire in a park in Tokyo's Kita Ward.

According to police, they received a call at around 6 p.m. last Saturday from a local resident, reporting that a cat had been set on fire in a park in Akabane-nishi.

The resident told police that the 35-cm-long cat was still moving when she found it, but died shortly afterward, TBS reported.

The same treatment would be perfect for the ones whom did this then this will never happen again for they will know what to expect in return.

It was more than one so they could get a good laugh at a cat running around not knowing how to put out what THEY started.

hope they find and burn him

This seems like teenage boredom taken to the extreme. It may not have been a teenager who did it, but they sure acted like one with this incident.

People found guilty of animal cruelty in Queensland face a possible $110,000 fine or two years' jail

Having laws against animal cruelty is only part of it, the courts must also sentence, this year a couple of teenage boys killed a couple of alpacas that were pets at a local school in Australia, they were caught arrested and charged and let off yet again by the pathetic court system we have come to disdain.

gelendestrasse, he doesn't live with himself, he lives with cats.

Sick person. We'll probably read about him doing nasty things to children next. Hope they catch him.

Humans. I hate them really.

So how do you live with yourself?

This is quite sad man. Whoever did this, hope he or she gets the right punishment for the wrong doing. R.I.P cat

I've got a few cats., all former strays.

One in particular is the sole survivor of a hammer attack by a bunch of school kids. The rest of his litter perished. Whenever he hears the sounds of kids outside, he hides under the bed and literally cries himself to exhaustion.

Humans. I hate them really.

This is somebody stretching their legs and testing things out.

Another year or two to full fledged serial killer.

Terrible news

Poor kitty. :(

Sadly it's most likely a young kid, Psychotic killer start this way first young animals and move onto more personal things and people! I truly hope they find this sadistic individual soon!

It was probably the works of dumb teenagers.

The world would be a much better place if people like this were just eradicated from the population.

Utterly sick.

This is just evil... poor cat.

Its probably some teenager with a really sick sense of humor trying to get a laugh. But with the way Japanese law is, whoever did it will probably just get a slap on the wrist.

This lack of empathy usually finds its way into more destructive behavior.

This person has to be stopped....

This sounds like the kind of thing that is a step towards becoming a full-fledged arsonist who kills people and not just animals. Find the people responsible, quickly, and punish them justly. I feel sorry for the poor cat. Only a sick person would do this, and they need help from themselves.

Well, I am not sure if this is true but I heard people stuff "kittens in bottles" in Japan, another sick game.

Giving stomach laxatives to birds, poisoning and beheading cats, feeding firecrackers to dogs all happen in the U.S. and that is just on my small street there. So animal cruelty isn't just a Japan thing.

I am a lifetime cat owner in U.S. and Japan and if something like this happened to my cats, 2 words: martial law.

I wish there were cameras in that park and in all parks to enable police to ID those who would do insane things like that.

Does Japan even have laws against animal cruelty? Ive never heard of anyone thrown in prison for torturing an animal here - as they should. In the UK last week a grub was given 12 months inside for punching a horse in the head. Japan should follow suit.

Yuck, this person is a barbarian.

Let's hope and pray she/he grows out of it.

The police? Don't hold your breath. In August, some punks bashed in the head of a cat in a local park here. The police was also called and babbled with the culprits. However, nothing happened, everybody just left in the end.

If I saw this person they would seriously be hurt, this is so sick

3 ( +5 / -2 )

This is not funny at all. I hope it is not another kind of sick addiction?

I don't understand how humans can be so cruel and idiotic, they have got nothing else to play or live with.

These people should get an eye for an eye for what they have done to poor lovely creatures!

Well, I am not sure if this is true but I heard people stuff "kittens in bottles" in Japan, another sick game.

Psycho killer at work or just some prank either way persons responsible for this crime should get harsh punishment.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I hope they find who did this on a security camera, looks like a serial killer in trainingh

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I can't think what to write that doesn't involve expletives and otherwise foul language. I hope they get caught and punished with a lot more than a telling-off.

There is a scarily cruel part of us deep down inside human nature that, like racism, thankfully most mature people tend to keep under control. That part of me wants to do damage to the creep that tortured the cat. "Let him have a taste of his own medicine!" Sadly none of the scenarios that I fondly imagine would be acceptable in modern society.

I agree with and second every single comment written above. I hope they do find this person and not just shuffle the report to the bottom of the 'couldn't be bothered investigating' folder.

Well this just ruined my morning. We have a stray that adopted us and she has proven to me to be a magnificent creature. We have three dogs and I used to be a dog person, but this little lady really opened my eyes to the wonders of the feline species. I'm convinced that homo sapiens are the worst.

By the way, there's a theory that the superstitions that we humans imposed on cats could have been one of the reasons why the plague was so widespread in the middle ages. The ignorant humans persecuted women who they thought were witches and burned not only them but their cats as well. While the cat's away, the mice play and the rodent population and the fleas they carried prospered; the rest is history.

Catch the person who is responsible, bad omen for worse things to come.

This sickness...it's never attacking somebody more powerful than them, you never hear this kind of psycho attacking an army base or a koban, it's always somebody/something much weaker.

Perhaps it's a flow on effect of bullying or something but seems like it's a common theme among these sick weak minds here.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I hate cats but not to the sick extent, the sicko that did this doesn't hate cats, they hate themselves.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

I'm so sorry for the cat, pure and innocent soul. That bastard will do it again, and next target will be a kid. Serial killer in the oven!

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Awful, awful, awful. Humans really are the vilest creatures on this planet.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

RIP Poor kitty....

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Frankly, I value stray cats more than people who would do this.

16 ( +18 / -2 )

Sick.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Find this person quick! Serial killer in the making.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

What a cold-blooded evil person. It's an act contrary to conventional wisdom and that's a problem.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

What a sadistic &$&%$.

13 ( +16 / -3 )

What sick bastard would do such a horrible thing? Really makes me wonder and worry about the sickos out there today. You could have one sitting right next to you about to lose it and not know until it's too late.
