Childcare employee suspected of abusing infants in Nagoya

A female childcare employee in her 20s who worked at Nichii Kids Nagasuka Nursery School is suspected of repeatedly abusing infants at the facility.

According to Nagoya child welfare officials, the woman reportedly abused six infants who were only a few months old, by slapping and force-feeding them, between August and September, Sankei Shimbun reported. Her colleague reported her behavior to the school principal.

Police said the six infants were not seriously injured.

The facility opened in April and 50 children, aged from a few months to five, go there.

The facility reported the abuse to child welfare authorities who carried out an investigation. The employee has admitted to abusing the children.

Welfare authorities said they intend to investigate the school further and request that it make improvements in its procedures.

Tokyo-based Nichii Gakkan Co, which manages the facility, said it could not make any comment until the investigation is completed.

Thankful that the babies were not seriously injured and that the colleague did not look the other way, but, in fact, reported her actions.

Not everyone can or should work in the childcare profession and clearly this woman should not. She is just very fortunate that she did not injure these infants.

Good on the facility for reporting it and dealing with it, rather than trying to sweep it under the rug.

Seen this before in person. Unfortunately Japanese companies don't want to "make an issue" for the sake of business. I hope all victims will be OK.

@glasshouse It has nothing to do with her fertility. These psychopaths are everywhere acting totally sane. It's on the school's responsibility to put surveillance cameras and conduct psychological analysis before hiring any people that seek to get around children.

Let's also hope she doesn't have children, now or in the future. At least not until she's had some serious counseling and oversight. It's the root of the evil that needs to be exorcised, here.

Yes, the SLAPPING is the Japanese technique used to get a baby to open her mouth for feeding... :-(

I'm curious to hear her side of the story. What excuse could she come up with...h'mmm...stressed out, ...I don't remember...I didn't think it would hurt them ...that's how I was raised...

I hope she gets locked up.

Why is this kind of stuff in the news all the time..its just sick! This woman should be sterilized and never allowed near children again.Japan needs to set up a data base to put this lady on so it wont happen again. Also make the people that are working with children in all fields apply for licenses to do so.Meaning background checking criminal records etc etc.For a such developed nation there is a lot that is undeveloped....
