Let’s see. Matches and a flammable liquid Were to barbecue a steak in the victims apartment. And as a parting gesture over their break up, he was going to clean her apartment with bleach as a parting gift. Finally, to commemorate the end of their relationship, he went to plant a tree in the mountains 15 miles from her residence. It’s in great defense.

I also hope France brings back the guillotine.

Forget it. The only guillotines you'll see now are in museums and you won't see one being used except at an Alice Cooper concert, and it's used on a papier-mâché dummy.

Thuds and cries coming from a room.....

Why didn't somebody do something about it at the time? If a couple of guys could have just knocked on the door....It could have just calmed the situation down.

Alas, this is increasingly a reflection of society these days. People are not willing to get involved, or they just turning a blind eye to things, even if going on right in front of them. The "I don't want to get involved", kind of attitude. Its all about me, me, me.

I also hope France brings back the guillotine.

"French investigators had requested the extradition of Nicolas Zepeda, who is suspected of murdering his Japanese ex-girlfriend in the eastern French city of Besancon in 2016."

2016? Well, the Chileans waited long enough but I suppose they deserve a pat on the back anyway. Better late than never I guess.

"I'm from Chile by the way and it's not like that."

Just google: *"violence against women in latin america"*. Lots and lots of eye opening stories to be found there.

"I've literally never heard about something like that in the 28 years I lived in Mexico . . . "

Who ever said I was referring specifically to Mexico? Although I am aware of other unusual stories there too regarding its so-called justice system, so don't get me started.

This guy will face a fair justice in France.

And I agree, latino’s usually are bit too hot blooded and they have some incomprehensible unwritten macho rules that we will never understand.

And yes,even nowadays.

This would be a nice time for France to bring the guillotine back.

@stormcrow

I’ve literally never heard about something like that in the 28 years I lived in Mexico and I can’t find any laws like those :x I briefly studied law both in high school and college, too. I can absolutely believe corrupt judges would turn a blind eye, but that’s not the norm and most definitely not law.

And laws vary greatly depending on the country too, there’s most definitely no “Latin law”.

I've have never heard of that law. You can't say "Latin law" because that isn't like that at all in my country. I'm from Chile by the way and it's not like that. A murder is a murder everywhere, but there's a lot of people that hire good lawyers and can get away with everything in many countries around the world and everybody knows that. In terms of Zepeda, i hope he gets what he deserves since all the evidence tells he is guilty. What he did was horrible and can't go unpunished.

UnaCabrita,

I wish it weren't true, but it's not a written law so much as it is an unwritten understanding by the court or judge. This was told to me by a federal attorney who was well acquainted with fellow attorneys south of the border. However, maybe it's changing these days with women being appointed to higher court positions. But crimes of passion like these have been judged softly by judges who were sympathetic and felt sorry for the enraged husband. Of course I'm sure there are a some cases where judges did indeed throw the book at a husband who killed his wife, but generally speaking, as crimes of passion go, if you're armed and shoot your wife when she's in bed with another man . . . well, the as the thinking probably goes, what man wouldn't be so enraged at such a moment where he would be capable of doing anything. Is it a crime of passion or maybe temporary insanity or both? Either way, it's not premeditated murder unless the husband admits to it.

I'm not convinced with that evidence...

You need to see the threatening videos he posted on YouTube. Not sure if they can still be found online. The guy is a creep.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Don't know if the dude is innocent or guilty.

how can the text msgs be explained?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The evidence stated here ( this article) are definitely not enough to convict him. If the French authorities have more evidence then they might be able to throw him in prison! Surely, there must be some video cam evidence of him entering/ leaving the apartment, direction the car traveled in and so on!

@stormcrow

Being Mexican and never heard of that BS law, who ever commits a crime should be punished, and that's the law everywhere. Being ignorant is not an excuse to generalize that all Latins are like that.

That case happen everywhere in the world.

Throw the book at this loser

^ “One of my relatives who's familiar with the Latin laws”

Please tell me this isn’t serious, and you a) don’t believe such a law exists, and b) you don’t believe there’s a “Latin law” that applies anywhere south of the US :x You just never know anymore...

1 ( +4 / -3 )

"Investigators believe Kurosaki was killed by Zepeda in a jealous rage . . ."

Those hot blooded Latins! One of my relatives who's familiar with the Latin laws told me an interesting story one time about the differences between U.S. laws and the laws south of its border. I was told that if a man (south of the U.S. border) was to come in to his house and find his wife in bed with another man then it's OK to kill her, about the other guy I forgot, but about a cheating spouse he can kill her and be forgiven in court. However, if it's the other way around and she catches her hubby in bed with another woman and kills him, then it's murder.

If Zepeda's guilty, and it looks like he probably is, then I hope he sits in a French prison for the remainder of his life.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Don't know if the dude is innocent or guilty. But as we all know, some men are very possessive and well...they can't mentally handle being rejected. And looking at her photo, she's cute as a button!

From what I read, he seemed to have been very upset / angered that she was dating some other man.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Rest in Peace to the poor young woman, Narumi. She had her whole life ahead of her, and could have achieved anything.

May this evil monster spend the rest of his worthless life locked away in a tiny dark cell.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Wow. A jealous rage is one thing. But this guy flew halfway around the world just to kill this poor girl? Talk about premeditated. I hope he never walks free again.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Lucky for him the French justice system is different from the one he'd be facing in Japan.

He may actually have a chance for a fair trial over there.

If he is guilty I hope they hang him, although the EU has no death penalty, sadly.

2 ( +8 / -6 )

Zepeda, who had threatened Kurosaki in a video posted online which he later removed, admits going to her room on the night of her death for what he described as consensual sex and says he left straight afterwards.

Sounds like he's digging his own ditch. He needs to start getting fluent in French because he'll probably never get to return home.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

the article only mentions a few of the evidence they have. As a french citizen myself I have followed the case. They have gathered overwhelming evidence on him.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

@bokuda, let’s hope the French are better at tying the evidence together than you are.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Let's respect his right off presumption if innocence.

I'm not convinced with that evidence...

It might be an explanation to renting a car, and buy bleach and inflammable liquid.

Camping in the woods, clean house before leaving the country, some DIY project on the weekend,...

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

Well, since there's no death penalty in France, so...

0 ( +7 / -7 )

It appears Zepeda killed Narumi Kurosaki and fled to his native Chile. Send him back to France to face justice. He must hang if found guilty.

1 ( +11 / -10 )

highly suspicious
