Police have confirmed the victim's suitcase was missing from her dorm room, and suspect that it was removed by the perpetrator...

No dead body means there is a decent chance that she's alive since it was mentioned that the Chilian man left from her apartment alone that night ( he didn't take the dead body, if there was one for disposing ) ... Also no murder weapon was found and no large amounts of blood. The only other possible way she could be killed was if strangled but then again what happened to her body? Also it's surprising that so many people now claim to have heard a loud scream but never mentioned it to anybody prior to the investigations.

"Now I am getting a lot of different information from different places but just wanted to make sure what is true. She is said to be happy in a "new relationship" but she went to dinner with her ex-boyfriend on 12/4 and brought him back to her dorm room. "

Exactly. That was her personal choice, and unfortunately it led to dire consequences.

Now I am getting a lot of different information from different places but just wanted to make sure what is true. She is said to be happy in a "new relationship" but she went to dinner with her ex-boyfriend on 12/4 and brought him back to her dorm room. Later the Chilean man was seen leaving the dorm "alone".

I am wondering how the body disappeared if he left alone. Surveillance picked up them eating dinner at a restaurant. What was their vibe like in the restaurant though they couldn't hear anything probably.

No more bickering please.

Talk about jumping to conclusions..you also put words in people's mouths (never said "wrong place at the wrong time").

No you didn't, but you did write this, and YOU are the one jumping to conclusions in your condescension here;

Unfortunately she made a choice which had dire consequences for her

It's a tragic story about this woman, not you, in your rush to defend your words tooth and nail, you overlook the tragedy, it isnt about you, it's about a young woman who looks to have been murdered.

Am with Yubaru on that, could have happened to anyone. Many ppl don't realise they are dating nuttas until it's too late (and am not talking about nuttas in this league i.e murderers but just ppl who can potentially act crazy when dumped/sad/betrayed etc. Have met a few).

Re neighbours not calling the cops, most media only talk about a scream but what's on JT makes it sound much worse ( haven't seen this 'anne-laure' anywhere else, only here on JT). I would like to believe that I would have knocked at my neighbour's door if such fracas had woken me up in the middle of the night, especially if I know the neighbour in question is a 21yo foreign student. If too scared, call the police and/or other neighbours perhaps but what's described here is def serious enough to warrant some kind of action. Going back to bed is imo not good enough, not the type of society I want to live in.

Been reported that French police have found a fair amount of blood at the (it seems) crime scene hence they have now classified it as "premeditated murder" (i.e first degree M). What's puzzling is that CCTV shows both entering the building but only the bloke leaving a couple of hours later. Where is Narumi? Did the guy come back? (some media mention a backdoor, no cctv).

Such a sad, tragic story. The fact she seems to be a beautiful, curious and vibrant young woman makes it even worse. Could have been anyone's daughter, sister, gf etc.

Yubaru: To venture out into life and see the world and expand her horizons?

To give her weird, creepy ex-boyfriend her address in France (or even the name of her new town).

Don't get bent out of shape there, no one said anything about staying at home being the better choice.

Bent out of shape? Then qualify what you mean, "wrong place at the wrong time" "choices" condescending at best.

She, from all I have seen on the news, and read in the press, was an outgoing, vibrant, pretty, young woman, looking to better herself, and probably all around her as well.

If I heard a loud commotion and furniture being thrashed around in the area I m living in; I would investigate it right away. Catch this guy, please.

Sad news indeed which paints both a country and nationality in a negative light here I'm sure.

And yet the same thing happens here as well. People interviewed after the fact here as well are guilty of the same. Heaven forbid that any foreigners get a negative view of Japan from them too.

Unfortunately she made a choice which had dire consequences for her

Sorry, but this just comes across to me as condescending as hell. Made a choice? To venture out into life and see the world and expand her horizons? What? Better she stay at home and keep her head in the sand?

Everyone's lives are full of choices.,

what is wrong to just call the police? how danger would it be to make a call?

Calling the police in France is not as effective as it might be in many other countries, so we shouldn't be too surprised that people didn't immediately pick up the phone and call for help. For historical reasons police powers in France are extremely limited. They can't start an investigation on their own initiative based solely on secondhand accounts. Unless they heard the screams themselves, it's doubtful that they even have the power to knock on the door to ask if everyone is OK. They would have to take all the witness accounts to a magistrate who would approve any investigation.

A good example of this was after the Nice attacks when tourists were prevented from entering the beaches if they had a suitcase. The tourists didn't understand why the police couldn't just look into their suitcase and let them proceed after verifying that there were no bombs or weapons, but to look inside would have amounted to an illegal police investigation. It's just a completely different system and culture.

Apparently the ex-boyfriend uploaded a video with conditions for Kurosaki to continue their relationship, and also said 'she must pay' (to continue the relationship) in the video. Also, he's in Chile (said another article), and Chile lacks an extradition treaty with France:

... The Chilean man is also believed to have voluntarily visited police headquarters in Santiago, Chile, sometime around Dec. 30 for questioning.

A local media source told TV Asahi (Jan. 3) that the suspect “visited police a few days ago and explained his position and let go after giving his testimony, according to police authority sources.”

Such a beautiful young girl, so full of life. My prayers remain that she still be alive.

Her body hasn't been found, but they're sure she's been murdered? The evidence that's left must have been quite gruesome. Let's give hope in the very small chance that she's still alive.

How about SMASHING down the door and BEATING the ---- outta' him, as a PROPER response ?

fear - causing a life. what is wrong to just call the police? how danger would it be to make a call?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Unfortunately those who do not report a questionable situation or accidents etc. often do so out of fear. Fear is a completely natural feeling and while is understandable to be nervous about calling the police their is no need to fear.

She's not the only who heard the scream and did nothing as well.

What is it with people and their lack of (insert multitude of fitting words) ?

Hopefully he'll be apprehended soon.

Did any of these people report the commotion at the time? I am always amazed when I hear stories like this where people hear things significant but choose to do nothing at the time.

I hope they catch this dude and quick! Punishment in kind!
