Shooting?! I thought it would be a stabbing or strangulation.

Scary

Tragic but also really strange.

Even if he is a gangster, who is stupid enough to walk around with a gun in Ikebukuro where they can be stopped and searched by the police at any time? If he is in mortal fear for his life, presumably he wouldn't be going out for a late night coffee.

I really hate the way that any news headline involving a foreigner always starts with their nationality. His or her nationality has no relevance to the headline, or to the article for that matter. It's blatant racism!

Random stop and frisks are an American thing. It doesn't happen in Japan. They may stop you, but they have to have a ton of probable cause. Moreover, even if you were stopped they wouldn't frisk you, simply ask you questions and things. Only until you're detained do they begin to go through your belongings.

Wow this guy was crazy he shot her in a cafe!! This goes on to show you he had no respect for nothing and to shoot a woman his wife. Very controlling he basically thought he was above the law.

I've been stopped and searched twice in Japan. Once my car and once at the airport waiting for someone to arrive.

Police said cafe employees detained the man.

IKEBUKURO?? Does not sound like my cup of tea! And as for this stopping and frisking only being an AMERICAN thing?? Shows how much this guy knows NOTHING about the real JAPAN! The cops here can and will stop you, frisk you, turn you car, stuff inside and out, and if you have MARIJUANA etc..well you will be BUSTED, welcome to the REAL JAPAN!!

Where he got the gun?

Domestic anger turned against their mate. Quick action by employees probably saved others from disaster. Sad someone who was once loved suffered their end in such a way. Hope the staff involved are recognized for their bravery.
