Police received a call Sunday evening from the wife of the owner of a Chinese restaurant in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture, saying that a group of men had burst into the premises, armed with stun guns.
According to police, after the couple closed for the night shortly after 8 p.m. and roped off the parking lot, a group of men emerged from a car parked nearby and forced their way into the restaurant. They attacked the owner with pepper spray and stun guns and made off with a case containing an SLR camera from inside the area of the shop where the owners reside. According to the owner, the camera cost around 30,000 yen.

If it wasnt hoodlums it was Yak or wannabe Yak. Often they do shakedowns but in the past they use bats and bamboo sticks to get the monthly protection fees. I would say 95% of gaijin have no idea how this works with small bars and restaurants. Were they speaking Japanese? Anyway, when I was younger in Tokyo over 10 years ago they would do the same thing--- wait till closing or stop anyone from going in and then proceed to beat the owner or manager until cash was forked over. Chiba and the story fit the bill..... Might just be local gangbangers looking for beer money..... Its too bad the cops wont care about this couple. Now you know why they keep baseball bats under the bar in Roppongi and Nigerian brawlers on speed dial.

Maybe there was footage of the gangsters on the SLR camera eating at the restaurant doing a moneylaundering deal that would serve as evidence to put them away....LoL

Sorry to hear this, hope no one got seriously hurt. But if this was in the US, it would have been bullets flying instead of stun guns. We just recently had a string of restuarant robberies in the Oakland, CA area. Robbers with guns, knives, everything except the kitchen sink.

The target was the camera! Someone got a pic that someone didn't want them to have. Just try to take pics with an easily identifiable camera around the numerous "massage" parlors in the Yushima or Roppongi areas and you'll quickly see "a group burst" onto the scene.

i have to say im glad it was a stun gun and pepper spray atlest they tookthe non lethal route to many times you here about people getting beat up or seriously injured or killed with aknife or gun atlest with a stun gun it ill hurt but wont cause any injury
