They now have international branches?

Whatever you do, do not interfere with the Health Ministry's vaccine campaign. They have serious contractual obligations to Pfizer. Any interference could lead to skepticism and that would damage efforts to get these incredibly effective shots into the arms of children. Multiple but yet unspecified number of doses as well. Gotta move units.

Q-Anon is another dangerous cult that needs to be eradicated fully. Arrest these dropkick members and hold them for as long as legally possible.

Good grief. More crazies. Lock them up.

That razzia against different opinions, whatever strange they might be, makes exactly as much sense as prohibiting the corona viruses directly. You know what comes now, yes, I recommend instead a NoCovid strategy and nothing else.

Thoughts travel faster in a vacuum.

YamatoQ says on its website that it is the Japanese wing of QAnon, a movement spreading internet conspiracy theories in support of former U.S. President Donald Trump.

The articles on American happenings usually have a few MAGA defenders.

I wonder if they will defend the actions of Japanese QAnon as well. There is surprisingly a lot of overlap between the American alt-right and Japanese nationalists.

Oh wow another thing no one has ever heard of until now.

-25 ( +8 / -33 )

The Japanese QAnon have been in the media before.

They are also protesting what they say is a lack of transparency about the composition of coronavirus vaccines and what they allege are their dangers.

Seems it would be ok to protest this.

One conspiracy that is best completely avoided.

I used to have a Japanese friend, but we parted ways when he became a stout believer in MAGA. He was a believer in this group too.

I suggested he go to the US, and he got mad because of it.

Japan still has the death penalty? Too harsh? 15 years hard labor then.

-14 ( +6 / -20 )

Ironically, Qanon originally grew from 4chan, a Japan-based online community.

I can not understand the arrest, protest is part of democracy.

..."his brain is squirmin' like a toad..."

Trespassing is not.

But vaccinations for children really are unnecessary !

-5 ( +13 / -18 )

Yes, it certainly is OK to protest this

Not OK, because the composition is already well described, and even more than that the safety and efficacy has been proved with millions over millions of doses.

Their website includes information on the dangers of the Covid injections

It only includes debunked or deeply misleading disinformation, nothing that actually is beneficial to read.

They refer to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's announcement that in 2021 the injections caused 1,431 deaths and 6,165 cases of myocarditis. I

Something that is completely false and depends on thinking that vaccines would protect against all and every cause of death or myocarditis, which obviously makes no sense.

A source so easily debunked and that only keep repeating falsehoods has to be made responsible for their malicious actions.

But vaccinations for children really are unnecessary !

Not really, they help reducing the risk that comes from covid even for children, there is a reason why pediatricians have been very vocal on the recommendation of vaccines for children.

Trespassing is not.

Mass vaccination site is a public space, no? Not trespassing then. Should be entitled to to shout to their hearts' content.

Seen these guys doing their little protests before near Shinjuku Chuo Koen. Less than 100 folks all wearing their trump and Qanon t-shirts sporting nice placards and signs. Someone basically found a way to grift disaffected locals and a few right wing foreigners .

Maybe a few of the JT right wing posters here have more first hand knowledge of this Qanon offshoot.

Ironically, Qanon originally grew from 4chan, a Japan-based online community.

No, the original in Japan was 2chan in Japanese only. 4chan was created by New Yorker Christopher Poole in 2003 as an English language version. Although owned by a J-national it's not a "Japan based community" at all.

How funny, those who deny COVID should be infected with it first then let us know how did it feel, like the song by Mr. Bob Dylan, How does it feel, To be be on your own , with no direction home, like a complete unknown.

Not really, they help reducing the risk that comes from covid even for children, there is a reason why pediatricians have been very vocal on the recommendation of vaccines for children.

Is this universal? Or were there just some places where pediatricians were vocal about vaccinating children? I'm pretty sure some countries were against it on basis of risk/benefit analysis. If so, why do you think those pediatricians were vocal enough to advise against children getting the vaccines? Seems odd they would have different opinions.

The efficacy from testing in kids (which was v limited) was v low and certainly below what would usually see a vaccine being approved I should add.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

The history will tell us if those vaccines were beneficial, or an absolute scandal.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Stupidity knows no borders.

5 ( +12 / -7 )

The ones who’ve been leafleting and protesting around my area look like someone has been obstructing their bath and laundry rooms.

Never seen Japanese take such an obvious beeline detour before.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

They now have international branches?

Why not? If international branches are good enough for the Moonies and Falun Gong......

1 ( +5 / -4 )

It's absurd they have a "local branch" rather than a Japanese organization unhappy about events in Japan. But having said that, rumor is they were disseminating info that Abe refused repeated requests from the WHO to make vaccines compulsory. I know, thank god, the vaccines were never compulsory in Japan but was it because of Abe?

1 ( +6 / -5 )

I thought the conspiracy theory went that these guys were actually working for big pharma so that they could link the qanon crazies with the legitimate questioning of the mass vaccinations of children, with untested vaccines, who weren’t at risk from serious illness anyway….
